This year, to raise 6,000 for Curtain tracks, the show will host a variety of local talent, including The Swanage School, Mow-Town, a band made up from the more musical staff at The Mowlem, alongside Swanage Drama Company, Swanage Musical Theatre Company and more! Save our Curtains - The Mowlem theatre rig is checked annually by contractors to ensure the high safety standards are met. The tracks were identified as needing to be replaced last October within 12 months due to their age. A crucial part of every show is the role of our big red curtains. Without them, the show cannot go on!

Castle Voices is a vibrant community rock choir bringing together people of all ages and abilities from across the Isle of Purbeck who share a love of singing. Founded in Corfe Castle in 2013 and named after the iconic Purbeck landmark, the choir has grown from a small local group into a thriving musical community that rehearses weekly at The Mowlem and performs an eclectic mix of rock and pop favourites. For this special event, Castle Voices will be joined by special guests Kelp! Shanty Singers and VoiceWaves Youth Choir, with the massed choir backed by The Purbeck Youth Tradfolk Collective and a live local band. Together with the audience, theyll raise the roof with a feel-good set of sing-along classics; from500 MilesandLean on MetoAfrica, and much more besides. Organiser and musical director Rebecca Field-Bunney hopes the evening will create the largest choir Swanage has ever seen. The BIG SING is all about bringing people together through music. The Alter Eagles are an experienced, authentic Eagles tribute band. Formed in 2003, they perform the whole repertoire of Eagles tracks, from tasteful country rock – complete with full harmonies – through to hard rocking numbers, showcasing the Eagles’ trademark duelling electric guitars. The current set comprises material from 35 years of Eagles’ performances, up to and including 2007’s Long Road Out Of Eden. Lauded for their accuracy, the Alter Eagles are a tribute to the Eagles, pure and simple and in a typical two hour set play many of the band’s greatest hits, including ‘Hotel California’, ‘Desperado’, ‘Life In The Fast Lane’, ‘How Long’, ‘Lyin’ Eyes’, ‘Take It Easy’ and ‘One Of These Nights’.

The Whispering Dome is an award-winning concert-adventure that follows a single nightingale on her epic migration from the UK to The Gambia. Blending early and contemporary music with immersive multimedia projections, the performance imagines the human music rising from the lands she flies over from medieval Europe to North Africa and West Africa. Five exceptional performers draw on European early music, Moroccan Gnawa Sufi traditions and West African Griot song, weaving ancient love songs, pilgrims tales, bird songs and new choral works into a rich, border-crossing sound world. Originally commissioned by Brighton Early Music Festival, The Whispering Dome won the 2024 REMA (European Early Music Network) award for Extra-European Project of the Year. A fact-tastic show for the whole family where Martins passion for drawing is simply infectious. Bio: Martin Brown Martin Brown is probably best known for being the illustrator of the phenomenally successful Horrible Histories series, which, after 30 years and 30 million copies sold, has become award winning stage and TV shows, exhibitions, visitor attractions, games and even a movie. Martin has also written and illustrated the Lesser Spotted Animals books, and Nell and the Cave Bear, and Nell and the Cave Bear The Journey Home, his first dabbles with fiction.
