Laurence Jones

Laurence Jones

30 May 2025 - 7 Jun 2025

Although Laurence doesn’t need too much of an introduction in the music business, for those that haven’t had the chance to see him yet, it’s well worth sharing a thing or two about this artist! He sings, he plays and he writes -- a triple craft -- and he does so like a veteran twice his age, but absolutely no ego and with both feet firmly on the ground! Hailed as 'one to watch' as a teenager by the blues media, concert/festival bookers, blues fans and various guitar stars alike, young Laurence really has come of age. The blues cub has become a man with a plan, turning heads and making jaws drop with his take-no-prisoners, incendiary live set and stunning records. Laurence and his crack band -- Jones on vocals and guitars, Roger Inniss on bass and Phil Wilson on drums -- put the power into power trio, with their modern day blues rock with an edge.

The Primitives

The Primitives

1 Aug 2025 - 26 Nov 2025

Fronted by indiepop blonde bombshell Tracy Tracy, The Primitives emerged from the independent scene of the mid-80s that spawned The Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, The Wedding Present and Primal Scream. Their sound distilled the shimmering guitar jangle of The Byrds, the buzzsaw style of The Ramones and '60s girl group melodies into two and a half minute pop gems. Regular session guests on John Peel’s radio show, with many an appearance in his Festive Fifty, their career was boosted/hindered when Morrissey named them as one of his favourite bands.

Kyle Falconer (The View)

Kyle Falconer (The View)

10 Sept 2025 - 5 Oct 2025

Kyle Falconer has always been a songwriter who has been inspired by a female muse. From his chart-topping success with The View through to his acclaimed solo career, his storytelling songs have explored the good times of love and lust; the bad times of regret and heartache; and stories of some of the larger-than-life characters who have stepped into his life, alongside some playful fictional narratives. Recently crowned with the King Tuts Songwriting Award at the Scottish Music Awards, Kyle brings the best of those songs together with The One I Love The Most which will be released on February 7th ahead of Valentines Day. The album is a collection of songs from his vast back catalogue, all of which are named after women and have been newly reworked in acoustic form. Named after a lyric taken from The View fan favourite 5 Rebeccas, The One I Love The Most features songs spanning almost two decades: from the unrequited love of Claudia (from the bands #1 debut album Hats Off To The Buskers) through to the lovelorn Dixie (the original of which featured on last years Top 10 return Exorcism of Youth). Along the way, the album also reinvents highlights from his two solo albums No Thank You and No Love Songs For Laura, which often tackled more complicated themes: Laura shares regrets for his past behaviour and the impact it had on his then-partner and now-wife Laura Wilde, to the issues of gender identity addressed in Kelly. A far lighter moment comes with Madonna, a playful, celeb-heavy imagining of what the ideal afterlife might be like, while Manchester rapper PROSE adds his razor-sharp rhymes to an otherwise stripped-back Lucy.
The Drowns

The Drowns

Punk scene veterans from Seattle and LA who got together in 2017 to try their hand at creating something new, and have come with an energetic and heartfelt brand of street punk. From the boogie-woogie shuffle of 50s rock n roll, to the strutting swagger of 70s glam and bovver rock, and the rabble-rousing of anthemic 77 punk, they've got all bases covered, and it's a heady mixture.
Man The Lifeboats

Man The Lifeboats

3 Oct 2025 - 15 Nov 2025

Straight-up lyrics, pounding bass lines, lilting mandolin and fiddle melodies and stomping beats, Man The Lifeboats have cultivated a sound that would not be out of place at a party at the end of the world. Influences Well, up there with Skinny Lister and Holy Moly & the Crackers, we have the Pogues, Bellowhead, Tom Waits, Dylan, Springsteen, Kate Bush, Frank Turner, Manu Chao, and of course, Chic. Throw all that in a cauldron and you end up with a blistering live experience, tales of lost evenings, ballads of doomed love and shanties about whisky-soaked nights, Michael Palin, and the end of the world. www.manthelifeboats.com www.facebook.com/ManTheLifeboatsBand www.instagram.com/man_the_lifeboats/ twitter.com/ManTLifeboats
Pentire

Pentire

12 Nov 2025 - 28 Nov 2025

Pentire are an indie band who make pop songs for the post-jangle generation through the smiles and sweat of the mosh pit. This Herefordshire four-piece tell cheap lager-soaked stories of student life, a small-town upbringing, and the innocence of youth. Brought up on a diet of The Killers, Paolo Nutini and Stereophonics, frontman and principal songwriter Jack formed a band with his best mate Owen in the sleepy town of Ross-on-Wye. The two friends met drummer Jake and bass player Jacob whilst at university, which cemented the four-piece that is now selling out venues across the UK.
The Leylines

The Leylines

30 Aug 2025 - 4 Oct 2025

British folk-punk for a summer's afternoon, a sound forged in festivals and bonfires, with fiddle-driven rabble rousers and songs that stir the soul. The Leylines was started by a group of West Country musicians driving home from a session at the legendary Sawmills Studios. Levelling The Land by The Levellers was on the car stereo. Something about the sound of the record, the rolling Cornwall landscapes and the smell of summer connected in writer and vocalist Steve's head.Steve, a product of council estates and stints in the Army, put his observations on the state of the nation into music and started writing. Adding the different musical backgrounds of band mates Matt (Guitar), Pete (Bass), Dave (Drums) and Hannah (Violin), The Leylines have created a style that combines the acerbic social commentary of the Mod and Punk eras, and a folk-rock vibe that will send you right back to those long, hazy festival days. The band saying is: If you wouldn't go out and have drink with someone, don't work with them. With a fiercely loyal and ever-growing fanbase, The Leylines guaranteed to have their audiences up on their feet and they will be having as much fun as their audience while they're doing it!
Skating Polly

Skating Polly

7 Oct 2025 - 16 Oct 2025

There’s a difficult to describe, yet timeless quality to certain songs that transcends genre or era. It’s something that you can’t fake or contrive and it’s what lies at the core of Skating Polly’s music. Admittedly the female-driven alternative acts that inspired the band such as Veruca Salt, X, The Breeders, L7 and Babes In Toyland (the later of whom Skating Polly toured with in Europe) aren’t typical reference points for most of today’s up-and-coming bands, but maybe they should be.

Jess Silk & Joe Solo- Hull

Jess Silk & Joe Solo- Hull

2 Nov 2025 - 2 Nov 2025

Due to popular demand after their co-headline tour at the end of 2024, Joe Solo and Jess Silk are joining forces again this November (2025) to bring their particular brand of often political folk/punk music to venues across the country. Jess Silk https://jesssilk.co.uk Jess Silk is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from the Black Country. Her shouty but melodic brand of folk/punk music gets people sitting up and listening. Armed only with an increasingly sticker-covered acoustic guitar, lyrics right from the heart and a distinctive, gravelly voice that many don't expect, Jess plays to audiences up and down the UK and has shared stages with many well known names among the folk/punk scene. Jess released her debut album, Break the Bottle, in May 2018 with a packed out show at her spiritual home of Katie Fitzgerald's in Stourbridge. Since then she's shared a number of other releases including two live EP's with tracks taken from shows at Katie's and HMV Merry Hill. 2020 saw the world shut down and Jess release two (almost completely) self produced EPs, the first of which, If Were Damned, was put together from songs that had been gathering metaphorical dust on her hard drive, and the second, There's A Bar At the End Of the World, a collection of songs written between March and August taking their inspiration from the events of the year. At the end of August 2021 Jess released her second full-length album Blitz Spirit, and in April 2025 will be releasing her next EP which was recorded at Metway Studios in Brighton. In recent years Jess has appeared at a number of festivals including Bearded Theory, Rebellion, Beautiful Days and Glastonbury where she shared a stage with Billy Bragg as part of his Radical Roundup on the Left Field stage. In March 2023 Jess played six shows supporting the Levellers and she continues to tour around the UK playing festivals, supports and her own headline tours. Joe Solo https://joesolomusic.com Joe Solo is an award-winning musician, writer, poet, activist, broadcaster and washing machine engineer from Scarborough. His musical odyssey began in 1987 fronting a bash-em-out band at school, and has seen him play nine countries either as lynchpin of pop-punk upstarts Lithium Joe or hammering out his unique brand of Folk, Punk and Blues in his own right. On top of releasing twenty one albums since 2004, Solo has written a series of children's books for Unison on social justice and equality; ran a research project on the Hull Pals Battalions in the First World War; hosts a weekly radio show; had one of his poems used in an international campaign to educate on dementia awareness; co-runs May Day Festival of Solidarity an annual event bringing together voices from music, poetry and politics to celebrate International Worker's Day; and has opened for the likes of Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott, Billy Bragg, TV Smith, Grace Petrie, Pete Wylie, and The Blockheads; whilst his songs have been played by John Peel on Radio One, Mike Harding on Radio Two and Tom Robinson on BBC6Music.
