The People's Theatre

The People's Theatre is one of the largest and oldest established in the country. We stage up to 12 productions a year in our own theatre’s newly-refurbished 500 -eat main auditorium and our new studio. Every show we do is produced entirely by our own members -- on stage, backstage and front of house. We have always taken great pride in working to professional standards. Indeed, many of our members have gone on to be actors, technicians and set designers in professional theatre. Being a genuine community theatre places us in the unique position of being able to offer to people from all walks of life the experience of participating in any aspect of theatre, from costume design to publicity, or just to sit in the audience and enjoy the show.
