Salena Jones and her Trio

Salena Jones and her Trio

15 Nov 2025 - 15 Nov 2025

"A superb singer who effortlessly delivers the lyrics with grace, charm and innate swing" - _Ronnie Scott`s_ Regularly described by critics as one of the world`s great jazz singers and, occasionally as “not altogether a jazz singer”, Salena Jones is almost impossible to categorise. The attraction lies in her voice quality pure and simple. Salena Jones` cool, relaxed phrasing and delivery is wonderfully free from artifice. At the lower end of the register, her voice is smoky and sensual; not for her, though, vivacious displays of double-time gymnastics or virtuoso scat choruses; she is a storyteller who allows the lyrics to speak for themselves and although ballads are her strongest suit, she swings with the very best. Salena's outstanding career now spans seven decades of performance; she has worked with numerous music legends around the world including Louis Armstrong, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Sarah Vaughan as well as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. To date, Salena has made forty-three solo albums and twenty-two singles. She is totally comfortable in diverse styles that she makes her own: blues, jazz standards, pop, latin, big band and orchestral are all in her repertoire.

Kara Grainger

Kara Grainger

23 Oct 2025 - 23 Oct 2025

Classic song-writing skills, smooth sultry vocals, and the ability to whip up a storm with a fiery slide guitar - very few can boast this set of trump cards, but it just happens to be the hand dealt to Australian singer, songwriter and guitarist Kara Grainger. With her slide-guitar virtuosity and sultry soulful vocals, comparisons between Grainger and the likes of the great Bonnie Raitt, or Susan Tedeschi, are inevitably. Like Raitt, Grainger knows how to get inside a song's lyric, placing her own indelible stamp on such classics as Robert Johnson’s “Come On In My Kitchen” and the Allman Brothers “Whipping Post”. But Grainger is no throwback to the '70s rock scene. Although her inspiration is drawn from the same spring, there is a healthy dosage of 21st Century chic thrown in. Kara tours extensively throughout the US, Australia, Asia and Europe. In the US, she regularly performs at festivals (The Portland Waterfront Blues Festival, Blues from the Top in Colorado and Austin City Limits, to name but a few). She's opened for many major acts including Peter Frampton, Buddy Guy,Taj Mahal and Jonny Lang. Her national tours in Australia including opening spots for Eric Johnson, Amos Lee and Little Feat. She's travelled to India and Indonesia several times to perform, and she toured Japan in 2011 with The Swampers and Donnie Fritts, the infamous house Rhythm section for Fame Recordings in Muscle Shoals. In Europe, she's performed at the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival, Maverick Festival, Tenby Blues Festival (UK), Beautiful Swamp Festival (France), Blues Alive Festival (Czech Republic), Sierre Blues Festival and Lucerne (Switzerland), as well as touring in UK, Belgium, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Spain. With a combination of tasteful blues slide guitar, soulful vocals and a heartfelt approach to song writing, this seasoned performer will be bringing a raft of new songs (from her latest album, currently being recorded in Memphis, and due for release later in the year) to showcase on this tour.
Stephanie Lottermoser

Stephanie Lottermoser

12 Dec 2025 - 12 Dec 2025

Now she finally celebrates her UK premiere at PizzaExpress London / The Pheasantry. She studied in Munich and got an artist residency in Paris afterwards. There she recorded an album together with US-producer Steve Greenwell (who produced Joss Stones famous Soul Session among others) at the famous Studio St. Germain. She is now living in Hamburg. Her current album IN-DEPENDENCE was voted among the top 100 jazz albums of the year worldwide by the German press. It emphasizes the importance of independency, which she has always attached great importance to as an artist, including breaking free from jazz stereotypes and the search for her own authentic language and its constant further development. The results are clear compositional lines, catchy melodies, emotional appeal and subtle virtuosity, far removed from academic sobriety and technical affinity. The press celebrates her as a “power woman as she is written in the books, a self-confessed feminist and a popular figure” who creates an intimate and captivating atmosphere with her music. Besides her musical career she is hosting a Jazz Podcast and regularly teaches at different workshops, especially for children and teenagers.

Earl Okin

Earl Okin

Who is Earl Okin? A question many have asked and been none the wiser when answered! Self-styled as a ‘Jazz Cabaret Artiste’, Earl is so much more - Singer, Songwriter, Finest Performer of Bossa Nova outside of Brazil, Legendary ‘Mouth-Trumpeter’, Highly Skilled Pianist and Guitarist, Comedian and Humourist, Broadcaster and Podcaster, Composer, National Treasure, Raconteur, Philosopher, Former-Schoolmaster, Sex-symbol, Owner of absolutely no casual clothing whatsoever and wearer of Spats……..and that barely scratches the surface! Active since the 1960s, he’s toured with Paul McCartney and Wings, performed alongside the likes of Billy Connolly, TV appearances with Michael Parkinson and The Two Ronnies, performed for royalty, successfully took his one-man-show to Edinburgh Fringe for 18 consecutive years, travelled internationally plying his craft and met/worked with just about everyone who’s anyone! He’s also long-time regular at legendary London jazz club Ronnie Scott’s. Earl is unsure who would play him in a movie about his life, now that Carey Grant is gone, but there is a forthcoming documentary about his illustrious career which you can see clips of here: His original songs have been recorded by Cilla Black, Helen Shapiro, Georgie Fame and even some bloke called Bing Crosby (almost – he sadly passed away just a few days before a scheduled session to record Earl’s song ‘I Belong’). Now, with over 50 years of showmanship under his belt, he is still wowing fans old and new alike, to the same high standards he’s been known for across the decades.
