We'll be playing every song from "Le Tigre" over the course of the evening, alongside our usual mix of indie pop and soul. Come and dance to "Deceptacon", "Hot Topic", "My My Metrocard", "Let's Run", and loads more!

We will ask you to provide proof of a double vaccination (via the NHS app or by bringing your card or a print out), a negative lateral flow test (via the app or a print out, which you can get from here: https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result), or proof of having had Covid in the last 3 months (via the app). We're limiting the capacity for the first few nights to make sure everyone has lots of room. Some people will have been out in the last few weeks and will feel comfortable with being in a club again. For others - myself included - this will be the first month they've been out dancing. So please be respectful of everyone's personal space and remember that we'll all be at different stages of returning to the life we used to know. It's no longer a legal requirement to wear a mask. Hdif Family Disco - All-ages Daytime Indie Club!
We've held the HDIF Children's disco at the End Of The Road festival since 2011, and they've been lots and lots of fun. We play our usual mixture of indie pop and soul, and the discos are a wonderful opportunity for kids to bop around to The Smiths, Belle & Sebastian, Allo Darlin', The Ramones and more, and for their parents to bop along with them. It can often be hard to get out to club nights once you become a parent, so these discos are as much a chance for the parents to go out dancing as they are for the kids. We also want to provide an alternative to the many rave-themed kids discos that are on offer in London. If you'd rather dance to your favourite indie pop and Motown songs with your children, then we're the disco for you! Music will be played at a reasonable level. We'll make sure that the songs aren't played too loud, but if you're worried about volume please do bring along ear defenders for your kids. Everyone is welcome at our kids discos - children, parents and family friends - but we follow similar rules to Coram's Fields - so no admission for adults unless they are accompanied by a child. About The Phoenix: The venue is a wonderful basement bar with a wooden dancefloor. Entrance is via a short flight of stairs. It's three minutes walk from Oxford Circus tube station. We play: The Smiths The Supremes Belle & Sebastian Dusty Springfield The Magnetic Fields Love Orange Juice The Ronettes Aztec Camera Beach Boys The Temptations Velvet Underground Felt The Shangri-Las Allo Darlin' Otis Redding The Field Mice Dexys Midnight Runners Camera Obscura The Four Tops The Go-Betweens Tammi Terrell Jens Lekman Jonathan Richman Le Tigre Pat Powdrill The Sea Urchins Sleater-Kinney Os Mutantes Neutral Milk Hotel The Left Banke The Associates Martha Reeves & The Vandellas "Popular club night How Does It Feel to Be Loved host their first London kids disco at The Phoenix, W1. Fresh off the fields of End of the Road Festival, HDIF Children's Disco provides a laid-back session for fans of indie and classic soul. Expect anything from The Smiths to Otis Redding" - Babes About Town (Jan 2018) "How Does It Feel To Be Loved? is running its third child-friendly disco on March 25th. This alternative to rave-themed discos such as BFLF and Rave-A-Roo offers indie kids and their tinies a chance to bop around to The Smiths and The Ramones." - Bablands (Feb 2018) "If you don't want to hear children's music at a children's disco there is an alternative. How Does It Feel to Be Loved? is an unashamedly indie club night Belle and Sebastian, The Smiths and Pixies are some of its staples, although pop and soul make an appearance too that puts on monthly Sunday afternoon shindigs for families. The same music policy applies, with the tunes played at a kiddie-friendly level. Give the youngsters a dose of musical history." - Time Out (April 2018) "Introduce your teeny-tiny boppers to some proper tunes at the How Does It Feel Children's Disco. From indie darlings like Belle & Sebastian, to the psychedelic soul of The Temptations played at a kid-friendly level, it'll be music to their (and your) ears." - Londonist (April 2018) Parent reviews of the HDIF Children's Disco
