The Devout: Depeche Mode Tribute

6 Jun 2025 - 28 Mar 2026

The Devout is a new Depeche Mode Tribute Act born from the infamous Speak and Spell - Europe’s leading DM Tribute that played Glastonbury and festivals across the continent - updated and driven forward by the same core member and productions. ‘The Devout’ play DM’s greatest hits with startling accuracy and production. The Devout will be performing hit after hit from ‘Personal Jesus’ and ‘Enjoy the Silence’ to ‘Stripped’ and ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’... There’s no doubt that this is a group of musicians whose experience, drive, passion and love for Depeche Mode shines through as they relish in recreating a live experience worthy of the boys from Basildon. Peter Bruntnell

Peter Bruntnell

8 Jun 2025 - 10 Jun 2025

The singer-songwriter performs his original material. Rolling Stone once declared Peter Bruntnell to be, “one of England's best kept musical secrets”. England has successfully managed to keep Peter Bruntnell a secret for all this time, even from itself. “Maybe this will be the album to finally give him the worldwide superstar recognition he deserves!”, enthused every other Peter Bruntnell album review from the last 20+ years, with an admirably unwavering optimism. “If we lived in a just world, Peter Bruntnell would by now be in the middle of his third or fourth global arena tour, his biggest worry working out how to courier his latest armful of Grammy awards back to the UK so his butler could have them installed in the west wing of mansion by the time he got home,” said a feature in The Guardian in 2016, intent on letting the cat out of the bag, but failing miserably. Needless to say, we don’t live in a just world and Peter Bruntnell is still having to get by without a butler. Needless to say, we don’t live in a just world and Peter Bruntnell is still having to get by without a butler. Not even 2021’s primarily solo, slightly synthy lockdown album Journey To The Sun succeeded in putting an end to Peter's non-success, despite Mojo echoing the plea that, “Somehow, some way, this cult and infinitely class songwriter must get his due wider recognition”. The Scottish Daily Express with its 5 star review, slightly frustrated, said, or perhaps yelled, “I’m getting tired of saying this: He’s brilliant”. The Irish Times thoughtfully combined two quotes into one, saving us the trouble of going back and getting crushed under the sheer weight of Peter’s archive of press quotes: “With Journey To The Sun, the man whose songs NME once noted should be placed on school curriculums has done it again.” And he continues to do so. Peter’s forthcoming new album, Houdini And The Sucker Punch will do little to dispel this fantasy of world domination, but it remains unlikely to become in any way a reality. He will remain the secret singer-songwriter, lauded by the likes of Rumer, Son Volt/Uncle Tupelo's Jay Farrar, Kathleen Edwards, Richmond Fontaine/The Delines' Willy Vlautin, Kurt Wagner of Lampchop and various members of R.E.M.

Ruarri Joseph

Ruarri Joseph

10 Jul 2025 - 18 Jul 2025

After a remarkable decade with the indie rock trio William the Conqueror, frontman Ruarri Joseph is returning to his roots with a series of solo performances under his own name. This marks his first solo appearance in 12 years, offering fans a rare opportunity to experience the intimate, stripped-back performances that launched his career. Born in Edinburgh and raised in New Zealand, Joseph's musical journey began in the UK, where he gained recognition as a solo artist with four albums released between 2007 and 2013. In 2015, he co-founded the band/art project William the Conqueror. The band received critical acclaim for their fusion of bluesy grunge and Americana with anthemic British alt-rock, drawing comparisons to acts like Kings of Leon and Nirvana and touring world wide to this day. This upcoming solo tour offers a unique chance to witness Joseph's evolution as an artist, revisiting the raw, heartfelt performances that defined his early work. It's a celebration of his musical roots and a testament to his enduring passion for connecting with audiences in an intimate setting. A500 Music aim to present quality live music in a friendly and intimate environment. We seat our audience at tables in a cabaret style and because we always hope to be near capacity, we allocate seating to our guests according to when they purchased their tickets. By inviting you to bring your own drink, we are making the evening an inexpensive as well as enjoyable experience. Unfortunately drinking glasses will no longer be available on the night but we will still be providing free hot drinks.
Lunatraktors

Lunatraktors

4 Jun 2025 - 4 Jun 2025

Very proud to present Lunatraktors. Please follow these links to get an idea of the breadth and sheer splendour of this amazing act/ these stunning artists: https://lunatraktors.bandcamp.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watchv=G3bxZKh52ZA https://www.youtube.com/watchv=0CF0RthdLhU Lunatraktors are a collaboration between choreographer and percussionist Carli Jefferson (she/her) and vocalist and researcher Clair Le Couteur (they/them). Starting in 2017 with an apocalyptic question What's left when we've lost everything the project strips down folk to the basics of rhythm and voice. Jefferson's hybrid of tap dance, flamenco and body percussion, developed after touring with STOMP (2001-2004), meets Le Couteur's self-taught overtone singing and 3+ octave range. Building on this foundation of somatic sound, their 'broken folk' style expands from harmonic singing and dance into eclectic acoustic beats, accordion, whistles and analogue synth basslines. Reimagining Anglo-Celtic folk music through a shared love of trip-hop, flamenco and post punk, Lunatraktors reveal that 1800s broadside ballads can feel just as personal and urgently political today. A double act in the old fashioned sense, Le Couteur channels the voices of multiple tragi-comic characters, matching Jefferson's hyper-expressive performance style. Jefferson's compulsion to dance while drumming prompted Lunatraktors custom percussion kit, providing both rhythmic and melodic elements to their sound. Lunatraktors are known for dance, costume, installation and film as much as their music. Since their debut in 2017, they have created hundreds of performances, workshops and commissions for a wide range of theatres, festivals, galleries and museums across the UK and Europe, including the V&A, the Turner Prize opening weekend, the British Museum, and Waterford Gallery. Their DIY debut album This Is Broken Folk drums and vocals recorded live in a viaduct arch made #9 on MOJO Magazine's Top Ten Folk Albums of the 2019. Their second album The Missing Star explored a fuller, more cinematic studio sound, reaching MOJO's #2 spot in 2021. Solstice Wyrd, a trippy yuletide folktronica release by festive alter-egos Yulatraktors, was selected for Tradfolk.com's top three Christmas folk albums of 2023.
The Horse Loom

The Horse Loom

25 Jul 2025 - 25 Jul 2025

Yes to this... Yes Links to this artist's astounding work: https://lowpoint.bandcamp.com/album/the-horse-loom https://www.youtube.com/watchv=R0THdaqGliw Northumberland's best kept secret The Wire. His voice is deep and warm, his guitar playing flows like mercury, the whole thing easily the equal of his influences. We got Beastings (his voice and bass string drone melding), we got an a capella Ah Cud Hew, we got Lie Here, a song about falling in love that sounds like falling in love Lee Fisher, NARC magazine. Where to start to describe The Horse Loom The best acoustic guitar player in the country Maybe. The most unique marriage between British folk music, avant garde guitar playing and punk rock spirit Certainly. Wonderful Definitely. Under-rated Youll have to ask him about that. Northumbrian guitarist and singer Steve Malley would doubtless be extremely embarrassed to read any of these things. That says a lot. Steve played guitar in Crane in the early 90s, whose post-Husker Du take on The Byrds-meets-DC hardcore earned them a deserving reputation as one of the UK's finest live bands. He would go on to play in Kodiak, Four Frame and then most notably The Unit Ama. The Unit Ama existed in direct contrast to their (musical) peers from America. Whereas a cold and cool approach was favoured by the bands from across the pond, The Ama dropped any of this façade and opened themselves and their music to possibilities of accident and misfortune creating a live experience that was truly inspiring. I say with total sincerity that they changed a lot of people's musical outlook forever. The Horse Loom sees Steve take this approach and apply it to his love of folk music. Combining folk structures and melodies with his incredible guitar playing has made The Horse Loom something truly unique. - Chris Summerlin Low Point is proud to present the debut album by The Horse Loom, the name attributed to the solo project of guitarist Steve Malley. Following several years of writing and re-working material in front of audiences up and down the country, the eight songs presented on the album were captured in a single day at First Love Studio, Nottingham by friend and colleague Nick Jonah Davis. Switching between instrumentals that sound as if they have been shaped by the elements, and more 'straightforward songs, that are in the lineage of classic modern folk artists such as Bert Jansch, Davey Graham and Martin Carthy, the album perfectly captures the immediacy and innovation seen in Steve's compositions. Lucy Kitchen Solo https://lucykitchen.bandcamp.com/album/waking ★★★★R2 Magazine 7/10 Americana UK 'A gorgeous, atmospheric offering' Folk Radio UK 'A mesmerising and haunting new album from Lucy Kitchen.' From the opening notes, Sun to My Moon, Lucy Kitchen's second studio album, takes you on a journey spanning from fragile stripped back confessionals to Americana, to psychedelic-tinged harmony laden anthems
