Peter Bruntnell

Peter Bruntnell

15 Apr 2026 - 16 Apr 2026

The singer-songwriter performs his original material. Rolling Stone once declared Peter Bruntnell to be, “one of England's best kept musical secrets”. England has successfully managed to keep Peter Bruntnell a secret for all this time, even from itself. “Maybe this will be the album to finally give him the worldwide superstar recognition he deserves!”, enthused every other album review from the last 20+ years, with an admirably unwavering optimism. “If we lived in a just world, Peter Bruntnell would by now be in the middle of his third or fourth global arena tour,” said a feature in The Guardian in 2016. Needless to say, we don’t live in a just world. Peter’s new album Houdini And The Sucker Punch garnered all the predictably pleasing praise of previous albums, going on to feature in a number of end of year lists, including being voted Americana UK’s No.1 Album of The Year and a Mojo Magazine Top 5 Americana Album of 2024.

Jordana

Jordana

1 Jun 2026 - 5 Jun 2026

At 21, Jordana is already a wildly accomplished DIY producer — she co-produced her new album Face The Wall and played every single instrument on the record, a remarkable feat of auteurship. Dealing with faith, sexuality and self-discovery, it’s a heady document of self-determination. Face The Wall is a remarkably assured statement from a 21-year-old artist. There are plenty of similar artists in her lane, all with equally stylized aesthetics and approachable auras, but Jordana doesn’t need any of the relatability tactics that some of her fellow pop stars do. She knows she doesn’t have to grab you to get your attention, she doesn’t need to rehash a sound from 10 or 20 years ago, and her confessional songwriting doesn’t need to be overwhelmingly sad to be poignant. All she has to do is sing and play guitar, and the music is just irresistible. When Jordana first arrived, it was her bedroom pop chops that made her an artist of note. Crafting songs through GarageBand that showed the talent that stretched the four walls of her room, the potential was scary. On ‘Face The Wall’, that promise is fulfilled, and then some. The baby’s cries sometimes landed onto the recording, adding a real-world depth to the record. An unmissable melting pot of jazz and soul.

LayLow Presents: Laura Wilkie & Ian Carr
Laura Wilkie and Ian Carr bring music from their 2024 album Vent to The Rum Shack this April, alongside new material and evolving arrangements. Widely praised as a brilliant and innovative release, Vent breathes new life into ancient Gaelic waulking songs - traditionally sung to accompany the communal work of finishing tweed - reimagining them as richly textured instrumental pieces. At the heart of their music is a deeply collaborative sound. Wilkies expressive fiddle playing moves effortlessly from low, husky tones to bright, soaring melodies, while Carrs acoustic guitar provides a fluid, intuitive counterpoint. Together, they create a sound world that feels both rooted in Scottish tradition and strikingly contemporary, blending folk influences with experimental textures and subtle, immersive soundscapes. Produced by Wilkie alongside Sarah Hayes, Vent has been praised for its originality, musical intelligence and the natural chemistry between the musicians. The record also features contributions from a range of celebrated artists, including Hayes (piano, flute), Alice Allen (cello), and guest vocalists Hannah Read, Joe Rattray and Rachel Sermanni. Following a series of highly regarded live performances - including a standout appearance at Edinburgh TradFest - the duo have been noted for their technical brilliance and deeply engaging arrangements. This show offers a chance to hear this music in motion - not just the record, but where its heading next.

Glitch41 Presents: Kau + Blu/Quartet

18 Apr 2026 - 18 Apr 2026

GLITCH41 PRESENTS: KAU + blu/quartet with support from James Mackay || April 18 at the Rum Shack Born in Brussels,KAU (pronounced ka ) brings together a German keyboardist, an Italian bassist and a Norwegian drummer. Conservatory-trained, they create free music blending synths, captivating melodies, electronic groove and beatmaking. Their new EP 'Unknown Waveforms Restrung' released on March 20th 2026 on SDBAN Ultra, emphasizes vibe over restrictive format, and features for the first time with the Cologne base string ensemble, blu/quartet. Rather than simple adaptations, these versions offer deeper reinterpretations of the original compositions through newly developed arrangements. The release expands KAUs sound by introducing acoustic instrumentation into the bands signature blend of heavy bass, intricate drum patterns and synthesizers. Classical harmony has long been embedded in the bands writing, making the collaboration with a string quartet feel like a natural progression rather than a stylistic detour. The new arrangements heighten the musics cinematic quality, amplifying its sense of tension, release and atmosphere. In 2026, KAU will tour with blu/quartet around Europe and the UK for a series of exclusive shows.
