The founder, in 1974, of the seminal proto-punk art rock band Doctors of Madness (The missing link between David Bowie and The Sex Pistols- The Guardian) he went on to enjoy a solo musical career, and founded the legendary multi-media club Cabaret Futura, before working as an actor on such movies as Batman with Jack Nicholson, Gangs of New York with Martin Scorsese, Mona Lisa with Neil Jordan and Harry Potter with everyone else. Born in London in 1951, he has been cited as an influence by everyone from Joy Division to Vic Reeves. His collaborations include work with Damon Albarn, Tom Waits, TV Smith, Gavin Bryars, Jarvis Cocker, Ed Harcourt and Tom Robinson.
