One of the UK's finest Jazz clarinettists Playing songs from the American songbook and music from the Benny Goodman/Artie Shaw era, this excellent quartet (Julian - clarinet/sax, Dom Ashworth - guitar, Paul Jefferies - double bass & Nick Millward - drums) have been hand picked for their individual skills and their ability to gel beautifully together. Band leader, clarinettist Julian Marc Stringle, was a child prodigy player who studied composition with Andrew Lloyd Webber - he made his TV debut with Acker Bilk when he was just 14 and has played all over the world with the likes of George Chisolm, Don Lusher, and Sir John Dankworth (who proclaimed him the best clarinettist to emerge in British jazz for decades).

STING - The Jazzier Side Several years ago, bassist Paul created a set of arrangements for the music of composer and bassist Sting', but they have never really been aired properly in public. Paul has asked the pianist and arranger Alex Steele to help create a show that uses some of these and add some of Alexs favourites to the mix. Stings music has always appealed to jazz musicians with its unique melodies and great opportunities to improvise over and around some extraordinary harmonies, so we are excited to hear the results! Paul on double bass and bass guitar, Alex plays piano, the excellent saxophonist Rob Griffin and ace London drummer Katie Patterson will complete the band.
