Bad Manners

Bad Manners

22 Jun 2025 - 4 Jun 2026

Fronted by Buster Bloodvessel (born Douglas Trendle), the band was formed in 1976 while the members were at school together, and among their early incarnations were known as Stoop Solo and the Sheet Starchers. None of the members had any formal musical training, not even the ability to play any instruments. They were popular during the late 1970s and early 1980s, a period when lots of similar ska bands filled the charts. Some of their hits include 'My Girl Lollipop', 'Lip Up Fatty', 'Special Brew' and 'Ne-Ne-Na-Na-Na-Na-Nu-Nu'. One of the main reasons for their notoriety was because of their outlandish, larger-than-life, huge-tongued & shaven-headed front man. Buster´s exploits got them banned from the British TV chart show Top of the Pops (which included dressing as Henry VIII and singing to a blow-up doll for the song 'Lorraine', pouring a large can of baked beans over his head, and dressing in a can-can dancer´s dress to promote their single 'Can-Can').

Raves Of Longton IV

27 Sept 2025 - 27 Sept 2025

Our annual homage to our spiritual rave home of Longton is back! for those of you who prefer a more authentic take on Stoke on Trent rave nostalgia, this is the event for you! Pete Bromley as many of you are aware was one of the resident DJs at Introspective, Stokes first successful weekly rave party which was held at The Leisurebowl, not to mention the first DJ to play a full house music set at Shelleys Laserdome before there were any official dance music nights promoting out of the venue. Lethal Lee Fredericks was one of the resident compares at the original Entropy night on a Friday at The Leisurebowl which eventually made its way across the road to Shelleys. He was also Daz Willotts MC where he performed most weeks on a Saturday in Shelleys also which became like a second home to the pair of them. Altern8 as everyone knows were the midlands rave sensations of the early 90s. Global success and crossover rave hits carved their names in stone all over the world, not to mention memorable performances at both Entropy and Shelleys that have gone down in history, not to mention their much fabled Car Park performance that became the video basis of their biggest hit Activ8 Our special guest on this occasion is arguably the most respected and famous DJ from the early 90s rave scene. As well as being credited as one of the forefathers of jungle and drum & bass he was most certainly the biggest name on the scene and were lucky enough to have him play for the first time in Stoke a classic house set which will be a very special occasion for the real music connoisseurs. Supported by the inimitable Mikey Worth, one of the citys best specialist warm up DJs, were set for an incredible night indeed if its all about the music and authenticity. Only for the headstrong, strictly for the wicked if you know, you know See you on the dancefloor x

The SoapGirls

The SoapGirls

15 Aug 2025 - 30 Aug 2025

The SoapGirls, French born sisters from Cape Town, are the world's hardest working band during lockdown - performing over 400 live streams with extremely crazy rock 'n' roll shows, varied theme nights and deep black humour. While civil war-like conditions prevailed in their adopted home of South Africa, the livestream stage of their home garage served them as a refuge and creative impulse at the same time - now it's time to be let loose on live audiences again! As children, the fearless siblings Camille and Noémie Debray roamed the streets of Cape Town as street performers for nine years, singing and selling homemade soaps to tourists in order to donate part of the proceeds to hospitals - and so the locals gave the well-known lively, nonchalant young ladies the name 'The SoapGirls'. As teenagers, they stormed #1 on the album charts in South Africa with dance-pop and their debut album. In the same year, they placed all four single releases from the album in the top ten of the single charts. Despite their youth, they quickly realized that success comes at a price. The mechanisms and soulless marketing machinery of their major label Universal were against them. From then on, The SoapGirls decided not to compromise on their songs and their live performance. They left the safe haven of chart success, ended their collaboration with Universal, and followed their hearts. Their passion was and is rock'n'roll - from then on, they celebrate lived freedom, freedom of movement and authenticity paired with a provocative honesty that is second to none. Social commitment and a good portion of punk attitude remain the basic attributes of the SoapGirls. After their break in style, the musical cornerstones are alternative rock, grunge and glam paired with catchy melodies and choruses. Some skillful excursions into the metal genre round off their spectrum. In 2016, the first independent album in self-production 'Calls for Rebellion' was released - with songs like 'Champagne Cocaine', which amounted to a reckoning with the major label. The second album with the title 'Society's Rejects' was released only one year later and became the life motto of the SoapGirls. In Japan, the album became a respectable success in the alternative charts with provocative songs such as 'Rather Be Dead', 'Original Sin', 'Bad Bitch', 'Johnny Rotten', 'Step Outside' and 'Party in Hell'. This was followed in 2019, by the third self-produced album 'Elephant in The Room' with the smash hit 'One Way Street'. A worldwide tour under the motto Don't Give a Damn Tour 2022 starts in April with venues in United Kingdom and Europe, followed by a USA tour in mid-August through mid-September and Japan from late September, before returning to the UK for a second leg between September and October. Rock fans of all stripes can look forward to an extraordinary evening with one of the hottest and wildest live bands in the genre. They will again tour extensively through Great Britain and continental Europe, whilst also heading to the USA and Japan for the first time. On March 15, 2022, 'Breathe', the second single release of the new album 'In My Skin', is released as a precursor to the full album, which will be released in early summer - just as their tour kicks into high gear Artists: The SoapGirls, A VOID, Shallow Honey
