The List

Theatre Royal, Drury Lane

It's the oldest theatre in London, and proud of it; there has been a Theatre Royal Drury Lane sine 1683, although the current building is a mere 200 years old. It's been visited by every monarch since the Restoration, and has not one but two royal boxes, just in case a bunch of them turn up. It's fostered the careers of legendary performers such as David Garrick, Edmund Kean, Joseph Grimaldi, Sarah Siddons, Dan Leno, Ivor Novello and Noel Coward. Oklahoma!, South Pacific and The King and I all made their London debuts here, and in recent years it's hosted 42nd Street, Miss Saigon, and The Producers. It's also a music and comedy venue and, not surprisingly, a Grade I listed building. Ironically, the main entrance has never been on Drury Lane itself; the current building faces onto Catherine Street. The nearest Tube stations are Covent Garden (Piccadilly) and Holborn (Piccadilly / Central). The theatre's served by bus routes 1, 4, 11, 13, 15, 23, 26, 59, 68, 76, 91, 139, 168, 171, 176, 188, 243, 341 and 521.

Disney's Hercules

Disney's Hercules

2 Jun 2026 - 18 Jul 2026

The musical, inspired by the animated film, based on the ancient myth. It's what classical civilisation would have wanted. Ancient Greece. A time of gods, mortals and Hercules, who isnt quite either. But if he's not a god, how can he possibly save the world from Hades? It's one thing flexing those pecs, but going from zero to hero requires a different kind of strength. Get ready for a wise-cracking, column-shaking, underworld-rocking ride of adventure, self-discovery and love. In tunics. Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, a brand-new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, and co-choreography by Tanisha Scott, Disneys Hercules delivers a thrilling night out at Londons Theatre Royal Drury Lane that leaves you ready to conquer anything.
