Thornton Hough Village Club & Bar's venture into comedy have proved a runaway success since they were launched in 2024 by DBN Events headed up by Dean Boodaghians-Nolan. Headlining our June 12 night will be the magnificent award-winning improvised comedy sketch duo The Halls of Ridiculous. The terrific twosome, who have done tour support for Russell Kane, bring a breath of fresh air to the UK comedy scene, combining lightning-fast improvised comedy with high-octane character sketches. But here's the twist - every bit of hilarity is conjured up on the spot, fuelled by the audience's suggestions, ideas, and occasionally, their wonderfully weird imaginations. Featuring Chris Lumb (as seen on BBC Three's Russell Howard's Good News) and Phil Allan-Smith (as seen on BBC One's This is My House), The Halls of Ridiculous grace stages across the UK, from renowned comedy clubs to their very own scratch night in Otley. Their comedic prowess was recognised in 2023 when they clinched the 'Best Alternative Act' title at The Yorkshire Comedy Awards and secured the Southport Comedy Awards' prestigious 'New Comedian of The Year Award'. The opening act is the loveable scamp Chris Giles. Yorkshire-based Chris's style of storytelling, observational comedy, as well as sound for like impersonations, and crowd interaction has seen him perform all over the country. He's gained himself a reputation for being a very entertaining stand up not to be missed. Well also have a set from James Allen. A 2018 Chortle Student Finalist, James delivers whimsical tales of personal embarrassment that have seen him support George Lewis and Hayley Ellis on tour. The show will be hosted by quick-fire gag merchant Ben Turner, a World One Liner Championship and Comedy Cellar Yorkshire New Act of the Year finalist.

Two Ways Home - AngloAustrian duo Lewis and Isi Folkner have become firm favourites in the UK Country/Americana scene. Known for their heartfelt writing and rich harmonies. No stranger to the songwriters round, they are also the founders and hosts of now legendary London writer's night The Round Up. Naomi CampbelL - 1/3 of Motel Sundown and a local rising star, Naomi is known for her dynamic and evocative vocals. She has enjoyed quite the evolution in the past few years from her Irish roots in Folk and Americana to a wider Soul and R&B sound. Her latest single Remembering was released May 9th. Jake Oneill - Bursting onto the UK Country scene with infectious singles like What Do You Say and Leave This Town, Jake brings a modern yet authentic take on Country songwriting. Hailing from the small town Burscough in Lancashire. Katy Hurt (Host) - A Country/Americana artist now based in Little Neston, with her debut album Gimme A Break" arriving on May 23rd. Having taken part in songwriter rounds across the country throughout the years, she's made lifelong friends and musical connections and dreamed of bringing some of that magic up north. As a songwriter, she's had several album cuts for other artists and her track "Face to Face recently featured in the film Slingshot (starring Casey Affleck & Laurence Fishburne). Her singles "Sounds Good In A Bar" and "Wish I Could Give You Up" both hit No. 1 on the UK iTunes chart and received international airplay on CBC, Sirius XM, and Amazon Music.

The set list covers everything from Eddie Vedder's 35+ year recording history, shaped by tracks from Pearl Jam's classic début Ten right up to their latest release Lightning Bolt. The set-lists also feature performances of songs that are part of the various film soundtracks Vedder has contributed to, namely the beautiful Into The Wild, along with song choices from Vedder's critically acclaimed Ukulele Songs. Vinny Peculiar [aka Alan Wilkes] grew up in Worcestershire and trained as a nurse before signing to Manchester cult label Ugly Man records [former home to Elbow]. He's since put out fourteen albums of literate autobiographical pop music over a twenty-year career touring band, solo and duo shows in the UK, Ireland, Europe and the US. Variously described as an under sung national treasure [UNCUT] a warm hearted Morrissey [Q Magazine] and the missing link between Jarvis Cocker and Roger McGough [Irish Times] past work associations include Bill Drummond [KLF] and his various bands have included ex members of The Smiths, OASIS, Aztec Camera & The Fall. He's written and recorded as Parlour Flames, the band he formed in 2013 with ex OASIS rhythm guitarist Bonehead.

In the winter months of 1994, guitarist Jamie Thyer took time out from playing on demonstrations for Marshall amplification and Rotosound strings. He began writing and rehearsing with a rhythm section under the ironic name of The Worried Men. Initially, they considered that the originality of their style and direction would place them on the outer peripheries of fashion motivated rock music, yet, because of their ability to entertain and not merely play, enthusiastic audiences, promoters and even record companies swiftly disproved this!

Tennessee Waltz are a close harmony acoustic country duo from Merseyside, comprising singer-songwriters Jimmy Rae (vocals, guitar, harmonica) and Sarah-Lou Fletcher (vocals, guitar, mandolin and percussion). Born and raised in Galveston, Texas, Loomis is the son of musician parents who listened to blues, rock and soul. Music ran in his veins and, with instruments readily available around the house, he picked up drums, piano, guitar and harmonica, honing his multi-instrumental talent in addition to performing regularly as part of his family's doo-wop group. A protégé of Bo Diddley, Loomis met the icon backstage at the age of 16 at Houston's famed venue Rockefeller's. Before the night was over, Loomis was onstage playing guitar with the legend. Diddley quickly became friend, mentor, collaborator and supporter, appearing on two of Loomis' albums and presenting a cherished red guitar that he still plays. Loomis and crew shine on stage proving his music is best experienced in person, where one can see and hear its intended splendor. Described by Blues Blast Magazine as a non-stop turbo of power, one minute moving from side to side of the stage, and then taking on his horn player in a head-cutting contest on the apron of the stage the next minute. Loomis' energetic, get-in-withthe-crowd antics are infectious. The swaying and clapping are just as he envisioned. Being comfortable on stage is something that comes completely natural to me, he says. I feel joy when I play music and it literally moves me. It moves my body. I learned long ago that whenever music is coming from you, from deep inside your soul and from the right place, people will feel that on a deeper level and might not even know what's going on inside of themselves. Having set out with the full band on the 2025 release tour, she is now crafting a stripped back set featuring special arrangements, magical moments and captivating collaborations for the Dented Halos Acoustic Tour 2026. The tour features two very special guests, Finola and Sophie Rose. Both artists lent Emilia their talents for the Dented Halos album and, as they are stunning artists themselves, it only made sense to invite them to bless audiences with their own divine music. While these shows are fairly genre-bending, they would be well-suited to Americana, Blues and Folk Rock lovers alongside any live-music fan who wishes to be whisked away on a soulful journey. Thornton Hough Village Club presents Tommy Scott and Phil Hartley from Space. Tommy Scott is the lead singer and songwriter for the multi-Platinum selling band Space. He has had numerous hits with the band since it formed in 1995... Female of The Species, Neighbourhood, Dark Clouds, Me and You Versus the World, Avenging Angels, The Ballad of Tom Jones and Begin Again, to name a few. The band had two top ten hit albums with SPIDERS and TIN PLANET. Both albums achieved double platinum status in the UK and went on to sell 5,000,000 records worldwide. Tommy continues to tour with Space and has recently been doing more and more intimate solo/duo shows with his band mate Phil Hartley. the bass player and music producer from SPACE. Special guest Miss Satin Beige is an R&B cellist and singer songwriter. Her cello-infused, lyrically soulful R'n'B has drawn comparisons to a "lovechild of Ed Sheeran and Alicia Keys", captivating audiences across the UK.

Liverpool legend Ian Prowse makes a most welcome return. It's been a busy time for Ian. When he's not been on the road with his band Amsterdam for The Plough Tour, he was appearing as special guest for Elvis Costello & The Imposters on their "Boy Named If" tour. Heartbreak: The Tom Petty Show is a sensational new show celebrating the Grammy Award-winning, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and all-round American legend Tom Petty. Featuring hit songs by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Travelling Wilburys and Stevie Nicks throughout the evening. One of the most respected and renowned guitarists in music history, Albert Lee has worked with The Everly Brothers, Eric Clapton, Emmylou Harris and The Crickets over his long and illustrious career. The British-born country-rock artist started his career during the emerging rock 'n' roll scene of sixties London, when he swapped bands with the likes of Jimmy Page and Chris Farlowe. After moving to the U.S. and assimilating himself into the country music scene, Albert quickly garnered a reputation as one of the fastest guitar players in the business. He recorded a number of solo albums, and won a Grammy in 2002 for his contribution on 'Foggy Mountain Breakdown'.

Jeb Rault is a New Orleans-born guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose guitar-driven Blues/Rock sound carries the soul of the Bayou to stages across the world. With roots in classic R&B, Funk, and 60's/70's Rock influences, he leads The Jeb Rault Band(formed in 1996), delivering original music full of energy and hometown flavor. Having toured internationally since 2013, including regular stops in Germany, Switzerland Austria France, UK and beyond-he's built a dedicated following for his authentic, high-octane performances.

Thornton Hough Village Club presents Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq & The Fancy Chaps plus special guest Chris Tavener Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq. has been delivering his own brand of singalong, musical humour since 2016, and the video for his sweary anthem Ive No More F★★★s To Give has been viewed over 20 million times on YouTube alone, sending his debut album Awkward Encounters While Walking My Dog to number 3 in the Billboard Comedy Album Chart in 2019. In 2024, after receiving a copyright strike on YouTube for playing a Brian Adams cover, he embarked on a mission to write an original song a week for as long as he could keep it up. This ongoing project has so far yielded numerous other viral classics, including Pssing The Right People Off, and My Brain Wont Shut The Fk Up which has been viewed over 15 million times across social media. Thomas decided he needed a band of well groomed folk to accompany him on his travels around the country and to join in with the mirth and merriment, so the Fancy Chaps were formed in 2023. They have been touring across the country since then, bringing catchy tunes full of wit, wisdom and whimsy, with a combination of sharp, classic fashion and punk rock sensibilities. Support comes from Chris Tavener; a theatrical musician with an acerbic wit, who writes his lyrics from the perspective of flawed characters that he draws from 21st century life. His cynical social commentary, dressed in punchy guitar-driven rock and acoustic ballads has won him acclaim from BBC 6 Music and multiple BBC Introducing stations. Steve is an artist and musician with over 25 years global touring experience. Starting out as a drummer with Liverpool 'Bandwagon' band The Stands (alongside bands like The Coral and The Zutons), Steve went on to play with John Power and Cast. As a solo artist and singer-songwriter he's produced 6 studio albums (his latest, Let The Love Be Found released earlier this year), receiving the praise of fellow musicians and critics alike. The material sits proudly in the song-writing idiom of the acoustic folk/pop artists of the 60s while exploring the challenges of living and loving in the 21st century. Steve's songs are simultaneously celebratory and melancholy, intimate and honest, bringing into focus the struggles we all face and the humility that unites us. Over the last 18 years has been touring as part of Paul Wellers band, providing vocal, acoustic and drums, and sharing the stage with the likes of Noel Gallagher, Johnny Marr, Corrine Bailey-Rae, Tom Jones, The Who and Kelly Jones (to name a few). Thornton Hough Village Club presents MOTEL SUNDOWN. With a sound reminiscent of soft-rock bands of the 60s & 70s, harmony trio Motel Sundown draw listeners with their blend of heartfelt lyrics over luscious three-part harmonies. A majority of 2025 saw Motel Sundown flourish in the studio, working on their second EP Signs In The Rush of Light, which was released in March 2026, earning the band their debut BBC Radio 2 play with Bob Harris, describing the trio as really terrific. The band joined Harris in the studio at C2C festival in March 2026 performing two tracks live in session ahead of their performance in the Indigo stage. Motel Sundown have been steadily gaining momentum as an Americana name in the UK following the release of their debut album If You Were Listening in 2022, and have since supported artists from across the UK and US; The Hanging Stars, Ashley Campbell, MT Jones and US Grammy nominated Courtney Marie Andrews to name but a few, with two UK tours under their belt. 2024 saw the release of their debut EP El Dorado (vividly nostalgic songs that envelop and intrigue you - Boot Music), coinciding with a sold-out show at the Music Room, Liverpool and Green Note, Camden, before appearing at Liverpool Celebrates Festival, sharing a line-up with The Jacksons at Liverpool's Pier Head.
