The List

Trafalgar Theatre

Trafalgar Studios used to be Whitehall Theatre, until owners Ambassador Theatre Group reinvented it. The two studios now present short runs of classic drama and quirky musicals from companies such as the RSC and Donmar Warehouse, enabling West End theatregoers to see shows that other theatres normally wouldn't risk taking on for open-ended runs. The handsome 1930 Art Deco building on Whitehall, just off Trafalgar Square, has been praised as one of the best-preserved of its kind. The Studio Bar offers cocktails. The nearest Tube stations are Charing Cross (Northern, Bakerloo) and Embankment (City, District, Northern, Bakerloo). The theatre is served by bus routes 3, 11, 12, 24, 53, 77a, 88, 91, 139, 159 and 453.

Clarkston

17 Sept 2025 - 22 Nov 2025

Emmy-nominated actor Joe Locke, known for his roles in Netflix’s _Heartstopper_ and Marvel’s _Agatha All Along_, will make his London West End debut this Autumn in the UK premiere of Clarkston. The play, written by SAMUEL D. HUNTER, the mind behind the Oscar-winning _The Whale_, marks a highly anticipated addition to the season. The production also stars RUARIDH MOLLICA (_Sebastian, The Franchise_) and SOPHIE MELVILLE (_The Way, Iphigenia in Splott_). The production will be directed by Jack Serio, the Drama Desk and Obie Award winner celebrated for his critically acclaimed staging of _Uncle Vanya_ at The Loft. Clarkston tells the story of Jake, a man traveling west in search of renewal, who crosses paths with Chris, a kindred spirit working the graveyard shift at a Costco in rural America. As their bond grows, the two embark on a journey echoing that of Lewis and Clark, seeking connection and purpose in an uncertain world.
