Cabaret Voltaire was a British electronic music band formed in Sheffield, England in 1973 by Stephen Mallinder, Richard H. Kirk, and Chris Watson. Named after the Dada movement's founding nightclub in Zurich, Cabaret Voltaire pioneered industrial music, blending surrealist experimentation with DIY punk and Brian Eno's sonic tech geekery. Their early work involved DIY electronics and tape recorders, evolving into synthpop, dance, house, and funk styles.

One tempestuous weekend in March 1979 was not only the date of the Three Mile Island nuclear incident, but also, in Birmingham, England, the very first show by a nascent band known as The Beat.

“I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig” reasoned George Bernard Shaw. “You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it.” True to form, Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs have left the wiser of us aware that they are no band to be messed with. In the seven years since this band’s inception, the powerful primal charge at their heart has been amplified far beyond the realms of their original imagination. The band's upward trajectory has done nothing to make the Newcastle-based quintet complacent however, as they’ve used the cumulative force behind them as fuel for their most ambitious and hard-hitting record yet. ‘Viscerals’, their third proper (released April 3rd on Rocket Recordings) is an enormous leap forward in confidence, adventure and sheer intensity even from their 2018 breakthrough ‘King Of Cowards’. Incisive in its riff-driven attack, infectiously catchy in its songcraft and more adventurous than ever in its experimental approach, ‘Viscerals’ is the sound of a leaner, more vicious Pigs, and one with their controls set way beyond the pulverising one-riff workouts of their early days. The fearsome album opener ‘Reducer's battle cry "ego kills everything" brings a philosophical bent to its Sabbathian abjection, elsewhere live favourite and perverse banger ‘Crazy In Blood’ marries MBV-ish guitar curlicues in its verses to a raise-your-fists chorus worthy of Twisted Sister or Turbonegro. Yet Pigs have effortlessly broadened their horizons and dealt with all these new avenues without sacrificing one iota of their trademark eccentricity, and the personality of this band has never been stronger. This record is their most far-reaching yet and its ability to get down to the nitty-gritty of the human condition is implicit from its title outwards.

Kiefer Sutherland has been a professional actor for over thirty years, starring in movies like 'Stand By Me', 'The Lost Boys', 'Young Guns', Flatliners', 'A Few Good Men', 'A Time to Kill', 'Dark City', 'Melancholia' and most recently, a western called 'Forsaken,' as well as the TV series '24.' But unknown to many during the course of his career, he has taken on other vocations with the same kind of dedication and commitment. The first one, beginning around 1992, was that of a cattle rancher and competitive cowboy (roper) in the USTRC team roping circuit. He ran a successful ranch with partner John English for almost a decade. During that timeframe, Sutherland won numerous roping events around the country including Phoenix, Indio and the Los Angeles Open. In 2002, Sutherland, with his music partner and best friend Jude Cole, began a small record label called Ironworks. The goal of this label was to record local musicians and distribute their music at a time when the music industry was going through a monumental shift. Some of their artists included Rocco DeLuca and the Burden, HoneyHoney and Billy Boy On Poison. In 2009, Sutherland left the label to recharge and figure out what he was going to do next. In early 2015 Sutherland played Cole two songs he had written and wanted to record as demos for other artists to record. Cole responded positively to the songs and the album grew organically from those recordings. Two songs became four and four grew into six, until Cole suggested that they make a record. Their collaboration resulted in Kiefer Sutherland's upcoming debut album: 'Down In A Hole'.

Rooted in a familial lineage of folk, 21-year-old songwriter Webster’s forthright, exposed lyricism pays homage to the great Americana traditions of songwriting while drawing from Webster’s own experiences immersed in Atlanta’s hip-hop scene. Her carefully-cultivated sound organically mingles that inherited country and folk with her time immersed in rap collective Awful Records, injecting the traditional with a clandestine jolt. A decorated photographer as well as a musician, Webster’s artistic mediums don’t intertwine, instead running parallel to one another. The through-line is her exceptional knack for direction, an assured confidence in her own point of view.

Panchiko is a British indie band originating from Nottingham. Formed in 1997, it originally comprised Owain Davies (vocals, guitar), Andy Wright (guitar, sampling), Shaun (bass), and John (drums). The band have since been joined by new members John (replacing the original John on drums) and Rob (guitar).

High energy, punk rock powerhouses Punk Rock Factory make easy work of their special brand of punk covers. Formed in 2014 Peej (vocals, guitar), Benj (bass, vocals), Ryan (guitar) and Kob (drums, vocals), were drawn together for their love of great music. The band quickly began to combine everything we all love about 1990s/2000s punk rock with classic and hit songs like you’ve never heard before. From the epic-ness of Meat Loaf to the soaring power of a Disney ballad, nothing is off limits to them.

The Undertones emerged from Derry in 1976, the result of five friends learning how to play basic rock and roll. Practicing in their bedrooms eventually led to the band recording ‘Teenage Kicks’ in 1978 on Terri Hooley's Good Vibrations label in Belfast. The legendary DJ John Peel received a copy and liked it so much he played it twice in a row on his radio show.

Arctic Numpties are Yorkshire's very own tribute to the Arctic Monkeys, with roots to the very same places as the original band. The 'Numpties' give audiences the ultimate Arctic Monkeys experience, exactly replicating the Sheffield icons' sound, look, guitars and excessive use of hair gel. Covering everyone's favourites from all six albums, the Arctic Numpties are a must see tribute band for any Monkeys fan. The band were originally founded by 17 year olds Ben Curry and Jack Walker in 2019. The pair originally started playing Monkeys songs together in their bedrooms before forming the lineup later that year with Tom Smart and Nathan Mabey. Ben plays guitar and keys, as well as fronting the band on vocals, imitating Alex Turner. Jack is lead guitarist of the band, their very own Jamie Cook. Tom, other wise known as 'Sheepy' is on the drums, with likeness to Matt Helders, he helps with backing vocals along with Nick O'Malley, or Nathan who plays the bass.

Transvision Vamp was formed by Wendy James and co-writer and guitarist Nick Christian Sayer. In West London they teamed up with Dave Parsons and Tex Axile. The band was signed to MCA records by Dave Ambrose, the notorious A&R man from EMI records who had also signed the Sex Pistols. They recorded their first LP album ‘Pop Art’ and released a first single ‘Revolution Baby’ and then charted with their second single, a cover version of Holly & The Italians ‘Tell That Girl To Shut Up’, followed by a third single ‘I Want Your Love’ which went to No.5 on the UK singles chart. The album ‘Pop Art’ was released later in 1988 and went to No.3 in the UK album chart. Extensive touring of the UK and Europe continued throughout this year as their success grew, starting on the University circuit and ending with playing two sold out gigs at the London Town And Country Club, taking in the Marquee Club along the way with queues two-fold around the block of Wardour Street, London Presented by CHALK. Heaven 17 are a British synthpop band originating in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England that was formed in 1980, having much 80s success with their electronic sound. Taking their name from a fictional group mentioned in Anthony Burgess's novel A Clockwork Orange (where 'The Heaven Seventeen' are at number 4 in the charts with 'Inside'), Heaven 17 formed when Ian Craig Marsh and Martyn Ware split from their earlier group, The Human League, and devised the production company British Electric Foundation (B.E.F.).

The Feeling are five twentysomethings from Sussex and London who love pop music. Great big no-nonsense, hook-filled, giant-chorused pop music music for the masses, only intelligent, with sunshine hooks and killer choruses that everyone can hum, from plumbers to professors. The Feeling, who are all between 25 and 27, are overnight sensations with a bit of a past, cutting their teeth as session musicians on a variety of mainstream and marginal recordings. They're all from Sussex, except Dan, who's from London. Paul, Kevin and Ciaran even went to the same school: Paul and Ciaran were in the same year. The Sussex axis of the band have been friends for 13 years. They met Dan and Richard at music college in Croydon 10 years ago, and they've been working together in various forms ever since. Five years ago they went through their "Hamburg era" when they appeared for several seasons in the Alps as a covers band who specialised in versions of Rolling Stones, Kinks, Stevie Wonder and Beatles songs as well as rocked-up versions of '80s hits like "Take On Me" by A-ha, "Walk Like An Egyptian" by The Bangles and "Jump" by Van Halen: "Whatever got the crowd going."
