Brian Cox is perhaps the world’s foremost communicator of all things scientific. His innate ability to make highly complex matters enormously entertaining and easy to contemplate has made his science television shows ground breaking in their audience reach and accessibility. Brian Cox OBE is a British particle physicist, a Royal Society University Research fellow. He works on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, Switzerland and is a Professor at the University of Manchester. He is best known to the public as the presenter of a number of science programs for the BBC, boosting the popularity of subjects such as astronomy and physics.

By 2006, Bridges performed his first full-length solo show at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, his first of many performances at his hometown festival. There are no shortcuts, no easy stations. Every athlete on that floor has to earn every single metre. What makes it special? This isn't just an elite competition. Competitors range from first-timers taking on the challenge of their lives to seasoned athletes chasing podium glory and everyone runs the same course. You'll see people gritting their teeth through a 175kg sled push, lunging the length of the arena floor, and sprinting for the finish line with everything they have left. The categories span age groups from 16 to 50+, with solo, same-sex pairs and mixed pairs all competing so the drama never stops. The atmosphere is loud, passionate, and deeply personal. Chart-topping duo, formerly of The Beautiful South Paul Heaton is one of the UK's most successful songwriters with well over 15 million album sales under his belt. He first came to public attention in the early '80s as the frontman of Hull-based indie-pop band The Housemartins, who are best known for their third single 'Happy Hour' and their No.1 acapella cover of The Isley Brothers' 'Caravan Of Love'. In 1988 Heaton formed The Beautiful South, which released 10 hugely successful albums – from 1989's Welcome To The Beautiful South to 2006's Superbi. Jacqui Abbott was lead vocalist for some time in The Beautiful South and she sang many of their signature hits including 'Rotterdam', 'Don't Marry Her' and 'Dream A Little Dream'. Heaton released his first solo album, Fat Chance, in 2001, and went on to release two further solo albums: 2008's The Cross-Eyed Rambler and 2010's Acid Country.
