Ebony, at 25, is one of the leading voices of female rap in Brazil, with her songs reaching the top of the Spotify charts and her live shows featured at major festivals across the country. Born and raised in Queimados, Rio de Janeiro, Ebony had an upbringing which, to this day, affects her songwriting style. As a Black child adopted by white religious parents, growing up in what used to be one of Rio de Janeiro’s most dangerous neighbourhoods, navigating between the streets, the church, abuse, and an introspective eccentricity, the stories Ebony tells are some of the most captivating in Brazilian hip hop. Her breakout track “Pensamentos Intrusivos” reached #1 on Brazil’s Spotify Viral Chart, with multiple releases placing across national charts. She has performed live at the Multishow Awards, Brazil’s main music awards ceremony, and appeared on the cover of ELLE Brazil, as well as becoming the first Brazilian female rapper to cover Galore Magazine. Then again, there is nothing ordinary about HUMBE, an alternative pop genius and one of the most poetic voices of his generation. These two full-bodied canine siblings are on a mission to create the ultimate party experience, fusing live techno and rave with real instruments. Performing in the middle of the audience on their battery powered Dog Trolley they conduct an animalistic ‘howling at the moon’ ceremony. Part space-age cabaret, part canine cult- this is dance music at its most gloriously unhinged. Since emerging after lockdown, Dogshow has rapidly ascended through word-of-mouth momentum. In 2025, they released their debut album, ‘Coming Out Canine’-a semi-fictional, autobiographical journey documenting their transformation from humans to canines. However, it is their live performance that truly sets them apart. This 360-degree ritualistic show has graced major festival stages across Europe, including Camp Bestival, Glastonbury (Shangri-La), Boomtown, and Shambala. ‘Boiler Room meets Crufts on a trip to space’ Join the spectacle and unleash your inner canine. ‘Highlight of the weekend was Dogshow’s electro poodle rave’ - Rob Da Bank If you have any queries or would like more information about access at Village Underground, please see our FAQs here: https://bit.ly/3EhSLgF, or contact [email protected]. Napa

Napa

13 Nov 2026 - 13 Nov 2026

A basement on Madeira Island was the starting point for four friends - now five - to deepen their bond through music. NAPA’s sound took shape somewhere between the energy of Arctic Monkeys and Red Hot Chili Peppers, the melodic sensibilities of The Beatles, and the poetic intimacy of Caetano Veloso and Tom Jobim. YouTube unexpectedly broadened the reach of their songs, winning over listeners both on and beyond the island. They traded English for their mother tongue, and their grandmother’s basement for a recording studio. In 2019, they recorded their debut album Senso Comum at Black Sheep Studios in Sintra. Its infectious melodies and raw, melancholic spirit slowly found their way into the hearts of Portuguese music lovers. In 2023, the band released their second LP, Logo Se Vê, this time with a more mature sonic identity. The new record challenges the premises set by Senso Comum, bringing greater complexity and inventiveness to its song structures. The band’s romantic pop bloodline still runs through the album, but its appetite for exploring new rhythms and musical textures is unmistakable. 2024 saw the band embark on their first national tour, playing dozens of sold-out shows from north to south across some of the country’s most iconic clubs, theatres, and festivals. To close the year, they released the concert film O Mundo Continua a Girar, recorded at Teatro Maria Matos over two sold-out nights in a special “Big Band” format. 2025 marks NAPA’s rise as one of the most promising talents in Portugal’s new wave of music. The band took their hit Deslocado to the Festival da Canção - a song that had already racked up millions of streams before the contest. They came out victorious and represented Portugal at Eurovision 2025. The track has since achieved 4x Platinum in Portugal and Gold in Brazil, and was nominated for “Best Song” at SIC’s Golden Globes. In November, they headlined their first international shows in London, Madrid, and Dublin. 2026 began on a high note, with the band’s first headline concerts at Coliseu do Porto and Coliseu dos Recreios on January 24 and 30, and the release of their third studio album will be announced very soon. If you have any queries or would like more information about access at Village Underground, please see our FAQs here: https://bit.ly/3EhSLgF, or contact [email protected]. NAPA

13 Nov 2026 - 13 Nov 2026

In a basement on Madeira Island, Portugal, four friends forged a connection via music, blending the vigour of Arctic Monkeys and Red Hot Chilli Peppers with the melodies of The Beatles and the emotional depth of Caetano Veloso and Tom Jobim. Their music initially gained popularity on YouTube, surprisingly attracting listeners from far beyond their native island. Their first album, “Senso Comum”, was published in 2019. It was a straightforward yet catchy record that appealed to Portuguese audiences. The band's melancholy yet catchy sound gradually made its way into the country's musical landscape. A more sophisticated soundscape was unveiled by 2023 with their second album, “Logo Se Vê”, which combined romantic pop with complex rhythms and creative textures. It became clear that the band was eager to discover new paths within music. In 2025, the band released “Deslocado”, a smash hit that accumulated over 12 million streams in less than 2 months and that represented Portugal at Eurovision. With a new album scheduled for 2026 and a brand-new single in collaboration with Van Zee, “Infinito”, out now, NAPA's genuine sound promises to continue to captivate audiences. Michelle Gurevich

Michelle Gurevich

25 Mar 2027 - 25 Mar 2027

Michelle's 7th bedroom produced album It Was the Moment will not disappoint those anticipating a new soundtrack for their darkness and saudade. It may even be her most vulnerable and expressive work yet, not unsurprising as it was written and produced during a period of grief and mental instability. There's a new level of emotional surrender in these songs, confirming her place in the lineage of dramatic chansonniers. Themes include a fatalistic submission to passion, the ephemeral nature of encounters, the loss of mother and home, the end of days, and losing one's mind in both the best and worst ways possible. Michelle offers her entire palette of sound here, from dark Lynchian realism, to elegant humor, to queen of epic melodrama. With shows regularly selling out in cities like Istanbul, Berlin, Warsaw and Athens, Michelle has established a niche that includes the East-European diaspora, the Berlin queer scene, and those with a taste for the melodramatic balladry of Charles Aznavour, Zeki Müren and Nikolai Slichenko. While her concerts include more live aspects and a line-up of musicians, she continues to self-produce and release her own albums, maintaining an intimacy and singleness of expression from her bedroom to yours. A genre based partly on elements of melody and style, but moreso, a signature fatalist-celebratory approach to songwriting.

Pigeon + Support

Pigeon + Support

2 Dec 2026 - 30 Jan 2027

Born out of an impromptu post-pub jam session in Margate, the 5-piece group Pigeon swoops onto the scene with their blistering debut EP Yagana. As the tracks cross effortlessly between Afro-disco, grunge, no wave and jazz, the cohesive symbiotic relationship of the band members is obvious from the start. The powerful vocals of Guinean singer Falle Nioke are complemented by a wealth of talent from Graham Godfrey on drums, Steve Pringle on keys, Tom Dream on guitar and Josh Ludlow on bass. Having moved to the UK from West Africa in 2018, Falle Nioke has recently been in the spotlight with EPs heavily supported by indie radio and BBC 6 Music playlisters. On Yagana, he continues to sing in a multitude of languages, but this time shifts towards a more organic musical direction, showcasing his incredible versatility as a vocalist. This new path can be attributed to the pedigree of the rest of the group – veteran musicians Steve Pringle and Graham Godfrey are key members of Michael Kiwanuka’s band, the latter also performing with Little Simz, Cleo Sol and SAULT, among others. Furthermore, Tom Dream and Josh Ludlow are electronic artists in their own right – with a number of artistic projects in the works, as well as having performed together as ambient duo Soma World. Both used to play in metal and grunge bands in earlier years, an influence which has made its way into Pigeon’s distinctive sound. As a teenager, Nioke would train his voice by the great river Rio Nunez in Boké, among the remnants of the slave trade, pathways and crumbling buildings being swallowed up by the forest. While most Western teenagers grew up with traditional pets, Nioke disclosed to his band members that his closest animal friend in West Africa was the pigeon – and so the name of the group was chosen.
