A glitch in the system transports us to a new interface, drawing audiences inside an old arcade game, complete with 8-bit music and video-game inspired lighting. This interactive and immersive sensory theatre experience puts the audience in control as they steer Player 1 and Player 2 through the journey of the game. Audience participation changes the course of the story, giving the audience a voice in the outcome of the show. Learning-disabled audiences aged 5+ are invited to explore with their senses on every level. Drift is a multi-sensory production designed in collaboration with learning disabled young people from Leeds East SILC, John Jamieson School.

Yevgeny Sudbin is a renowned pianist who has performed at top venues such as London’s Royal Festival Hall and New York’s Lincoln Center. His recordings have won many awards, including Gramophone’s 2023 Recording of the Year. A former student at the Royal Academy of Music, he is now a visiting professor. His upcoming Harrogate concert promises an exciting and diverse programme, showcasing his exceptional skill and musical range. Sudbin is set to bring his expressive touch to Bach’s Fantasia and Fugue in A minor, highlighting its emotional depth and complexity. In Liszt’s Funérailles, the piece’s dramatic intensity will capture feelings of mourning and grandeur, allowing Sudbin to showcase his remarkable technical skill and interpretive sensitivity. The concert will last c.2 hours including a 20 minute interval.

Young Musician: Alannah Saphir

Alannah, a former pupil of St. Aidan’s School, Harrogate, is currently taking a gap year before studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Her musical journey began at age 5 with piano and at 7 with flute. In 2019, Alannah won her category at the European Piano Teachers Association Competition at the Royal Academy of Music. Now focusing on the flute, she studies with renowned flautist Anna Noakes at the Royal Academy of Music. She won Ripon Young Musician of the Year in 2023 and the Harrogate Young Musician of the Festival in 2024. Alannah also reached the national final of the Rotary Club Music Competition. She is Principal Flute in the Opera North Youth Orchestra, performing works by composers like Sibelius and Shostakovich. Earlier this year Alannah gave a local recital at Christ Church, Harrogate, and this concert marks her debut at the Harrogate International Festivals.

Lorenzo Nguyen Piano Edoardo Grieco Violin Francesco Massimino Cello Founded in 2013 in Turin, Trio Concept have quickly established themselves as one of the leading ensembles in the classical music world. In 2023, they won First Prize at the Schoenfeld International String Competition in Harbin, China, and the YCAT international auditions at Wigmore Hall. They were selected as the 2024 ensemble-in-residence at the Verbier Festival, where they also received the prestigious Prix Paternot. Recently named ‘ECHO Rising Stars’ for the 2025/2026 season, the trio will tour Europe’s top venues, including the Musikverein and Elbphilharmonie. Trio Consort open the concert with Bloch’s Three Nocturnes, a piece that evokes the mystery through sweeping, expressive melodies. They will also perform Ravel’s Piano Trio in A minor (1914), filled with rich harmonies and a distinctly French charm and Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 49, a beloved work renowned for its lyrical beauty and the delicate yet dynamic interactions between the instruments. This carefully curated program promises a memorable morning of exceptional chamber music. The concert will last c.60 minutes with no interval.

Young Musician: Charlotte Spruit

Charlotte Spruit is a Dutch violinist known for her expressive performances as both a soloist and chamber musician. She has played at major venues including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall in London, and with orchestras such as the Residentie Orkest, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, and Ensemble Esperanza. Charlotte enjoys exploring creative ways to connect with audiences, including collaborations that combine music with visual art. In 2022, she and artist Jérémie Queyras won a prize for their multidisciplinary performance at the Goodmesh Concours. The morning concert opens with Beethoven’s final violin sonata, the gentle yet noble Sonata No. 10 in G major, Op. 96 followed by Schumann’s passionate Violin Sonata No. 2 in D minor, Op. 121, known for its emotional intensity and sweeping romantic lines. This thoughtfully paired program offers listeners a journey from Beethoven’s refined classicism to Schumann’s rich expressiveness-a morning not to be missed by lovers of chamber music. Accompanied by Angus Webster The concert will last c.60 minutes with no interval.
