Please read this description and the terms & conditions in full - it contains important information. MyOTAS My Own Time And Space is a registered charity, based in South Essex, that provides activities for neurodivergent (autism, adhd, dyslexia, dyspraxia, OCD, Tourette's, sensory processing disorder, social anxiety, etc.) children and teens and support to their families. Children DO NOT need a diagnosis to access our activities - if you feel it is beneficial to their well-being and will help them make friends, then please bring them along. Woodland Warriors is an outdoor activity company, that helps children of different age groups and from different backgrounds to learn basic life skills through outdoor play. MyOTAS have joined forces with Tiffany Belford-Fry (Tiffers) of Woodland Warriors, to create sessions tailored to the needs of neurodivergent children and those with social anxiety issues. There is no pressure to join in activities and there are quiet areas available, should any child need a break from the session. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and is essentially free play, with activities the kids can choose from and options for sensory feedback using our hammocks, rope ladders and nest swing. There are new activities each week and there are always options to join in, or roam where their interest takes them. Each session ends with the toasting of marshmallows around the camp fire. First Session FREE - email [email protected] to register your child's details - if you are struggling financially please contact us privately, as we are able to offer a few reduced/free places most weeks. If you haven't tried it out before, come along and meet the gang; Tiffers (Tiffany Belford-Fry), Vicky, Chrissie and all the lovely children and parents who regularly attend. It's a great way for your child (and you!) to make new friends. If your child is anxious about coming along, please drop us an email [email protected] and we can send you some photos of the sessions and answer any other queries you might have. IMPORTANT - YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION QUESTIONS BELOW ONCE AND THEN YOU ONLY NEED TO COMPLETE AGAIN IF THERE IS A CHANGE IN CIRCUMSTANCES Parent and Child Reviews J does not attend any other sorts of groups as he always feels too anxious. WW is an exception, he loved the freedom of being outside and being able to dip in and out of activities as he feels comfortable. A very relaxed unpressured group where needs are accepted and respected, my children love it, they are invited to join in but not pressured I anyway. Tiffers patience, encouragement and learning activities are exemplary. "I dont know where I would be if it wasnt for all the support myself and my family have received from MyOTAS and Tiff at Woodland Warriors." 8yr old : "I love the sensory swings and making and doing things like cooking on the fire. I get to see my friends and we can play. I don't feel like the only one that has autism anymore. I love Tiffers, she makes me laugh and knows lots of stuff, she's fun! They don't think I'm weird if I tic, move around (stim), or get upset or anxious." Age Range: -4 to 16 years (siblings and friends welcome to book too) We request that parents stay at the activities and remain responsible for their child(ren) at all times. We have found in the past that children like their parents with them when they first come along, but as their confidence grows parents can stand back from the activities, chat amongst themselves and make new friends too. Throughout the sessions, children will be able to participate in a range of activities from balancing, climbing, developing problem solving skills, making crafts, cooking on the camp fire, learning about the wildlife and how to safely make fire. No two sessions are the same, with different activities each week. Postcode Places Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of Peoples Postcode Lottery. MyOTAS received a grant from thePostcode Places Trust [http://www.postcodelottery.co.uk/] to run these Woodland Warrior activity sessions. Where to Find Us Woodland Warriors takes place at Memorial Park, Rettendon View, Wickford, SS11 8JE. If you park in the carpark at Rettendon View and then follow the path/road into the park itself on foot, alongside the playground. Behind the playground is the building housing Hutton's Cafe and the toilets. If you walk on the path to the left of this building you will see a wooded area behind the Bowling Club. This is where the Woodland Warriors meet. What To Bring 1. Suitable clothing for the weather. We don't let the rain put us off, so waterproof coats are essential on very rainy days. Summer months: Sun lotion, insect repellent, hat and sunglasses, waterproof jacket and suitable footwear, such as wellies or sturdy trainers. Winter months: plenty of layers to keep warm and dry, hat and gloves if needed and suitable footwear, wellies or sturdy trainers. 2. Free refreshments are available, but you can also bring a drink and a snack for you and your child if you'd like. If your session spans lunch time, you are most welcome to bring along a packed lunch.

To ensure that activities are finished within the session, children will complete activities together at the same time (if they choose to do so). To enable the smooth transition between the first and second session and to give Tiffers and Vicky time to set up the sessions, please do not arrive before the scheduled start time and try to leave promptly at the end of your session. Please speak to us if you have siblings of different ages or if you have any questions.
