Ribbon Skirt is a Montreal-based post-punk band led by Anishinaabe musician Tashiina Buswa and lead guitarist Billy Riley. The band released their debut album, Bite Down, on Mint Records in April 2025. Produced by Scott Munro (Preoccupations) and mixed by Greg Saunier (Deerhoof), the album marks a shift toward a darker, more introspective sound, exploring themes of memory, grief, and Buswa’s connection to her Indigenous identity and cultural practices. Ribbon Skirt has performed at major festivals across North America, including SXSW, New Colossus, Sled Island, Sappyfest, and Pop Montreal, sharing the stage with artists like Dehd, Ombiigizi, Packs, Wombo, Marnie Stern, Enumclaw, and Chad VanGaalen. Ringlets

Ringlets

17 May 2026 - 26 May 2026

Ragingly bright post-punk quartet Ringlets emerged from Aotearoa’s musical ether in 2021; carving out space with their distinct blend of delicate wit, grit and evident sonic technicality. With a highly durable, machine-tested rhythm section and two of Auckland’s leading lyrical & melodic consultants, Ringlets have been fast-building a solid reputation. Catching the eye of former Pitchfork editor Chris Ott, Autumn 2023 saw the band release their eponymous debut under Ott’s label Mutual Skies. Produced by De Stevens (Office Dog, Erny Belle) and the band themselves, the 10-track album is a sporadic and riotous introduction to this exciting musical offering. Cut to the year 2025, and few post-punk records from Aotearoa would have been more anticipated this year than the band's sophomore offering The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies), which saw the four-piece return to The Lab with Olly Harmer and usher in Michael Logie (The Mint Chicks) to produce alongside. Mixed later at Abbey Road Studios by Isaac Keating, the result is a collection of songs more cohesive and controlled - yet constantly changing and re-composing itself, totally deserving of the ‘Flying Nun Records’ alumni position it’s earned them. The Slingers

4 Jun 2026 - 14 Jun 2026

Over the last five years of eclectic releases and impassioned live performances, The Slingers have cemented themselves as one of the most unique and hyped bands of the Australian alternative scene. The band signed to Flightless Records in 2020 (King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard), releasing a double A-side immediately in collaboration with Melbourne icon Spike Fuck. Then 2023 saw the release of their debut LP, Sentimentalism, which peaked at #4 for ARIA’s Top Aus Albums and #5 on Top Vinyl Albums and instantly sold out of physical copies. The band opened 2025 with a sold-out double headline show in Melbourne with visiting Irish artist, Susan O’Neill. In September, the band will release, ‘Payphone Man’, along with a video clip shot with London filmmaker Archie Chew. This will be the first single of their incoming sophomore album, True Believers. The launch will be celebrated with an East Coast tour in Australia, followed by the band’s first foray into the UK and Ireland.

Hiding Places

Hiding Places

11 Nov 2026 - 11 Nov 2026

Windmill Brixton & FORM present: HIDING PLACES - https://hidingplaces.band/ Shortly after forming, the members of the New York-via-North Carolina indie rock band Hiding Places noticed a secret power. During their live sets, no matter the loudness, scuzziness, or mayhem of the venues they played, their tender, atmospheric sound became the focus of the room, quieting their surroundings as audiences became hypnotized by their steady, rhythmic interplay and bittersweet vocal melodies. From these experiences, the band developed a credo of close listening. If one member plays too fast, they won’t try to nudge down the tempo; if someone’s volume rises above the rest, they adapt their levels accordingly. The goal, always, is togetherness-to maintain a unified whole, always in sync. This philosophy is part of what makes the quartet’s cozily intricate and hard-hitting Keeled Scales debut, The Secret to Good Living, feel like a bold introduction as much as a well-worn mixtape, passed down from a trusted friend. They embrace music as a means of communication, identity-forming, and deeper understanding of human nature. Songwriters/guitarists Audrey Keelin and Nicholas Byrne alternate between fronting the band. Rounded out by a rhythm section of drummer Henry Cutting and bassist/producer Michael Matsakis, they’ve developed a forward-thinking sound with a sense of nostalgia built into it: a blend that draws from Yo La Tengo, The New Year, Drive-By Truckers, and The Microphones. Jonique, Drury Hill, Dogsbody, Harry Klaus
JONIQUE - Formerly of alt-rock duo Fräulein, Jonique writes music grown from the gut. Songs about memory, identity and belonging play out in front of you, each like a distinct scene from the world she’s carving out for herself. Her solo project - backed by a cracking band - retains the edge of alt-rock, while weaving in the atmospheric influence of 90s trip-hop and electronica. https://www.instagram.com/graciouslymarie/ DRURY HILL - Currently Leeds-base, Drury Hill are an offbeat but consistently tuneful quartet that flickers seamlessly through soft rock, post folk and indie pop sounds. https://linktr.ee/druryhill DOGSBODY - The brainchild of Mimi Jones, whose songwriting has been likened to Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith and Mazzy Star, Dogsbody craft honest songs with grungy chord progressions; every note is purposeful and every lyric deliberate. Mimi’s jazz-imbued vocals and raw delivery bring the songs into their most intimate form. https://linktr.ee/dogsbodypart HARRY KLAUS - multi-instrumentalist artist combining disorder with pop sensibilities to create an authentic, dark, outsider folk sound - ranging from simplistic electro-baroque songs to expansive country ballads. https://www.instagram.com/harry_klaus7/ Presented by Windmill Brixton.
