Please join us for an exciting evening exploring the archaeology, politics and warfare of our Anglo-Saxon ancestors in preparation for Ellendune 1200, an event to commemorate the 1200th anniversary of the Battle of Ellendune. We are pleased to welcome three renowned speakers, respected in their fields: Professor Tim Sutherland who will be discussing the archaeology, identification and excavation of Battlefields in early Medieval England Emeritus Professor Barbara Yorke who will be discussing Wessex V. Mercia, the politics of the Battle of Ellendune Author Paul Hill who will be discussing the subject, - what was warfare really like in the Anglo Saxon Age? Our speakers books will be on sale at this event. There will be an interval with refreshments.
