If you work in the construction industry and have ever thought, I could teach someone this, then Yeovil College wants to hear from you. On6th May 2026, were opening our doors to construction professionals who are interested in sharing their skills, shaping the next generation, and exploring a flexible, supported route into teaching. Whether youre a bricklayer, carpenter, electrician, plumber, site manager or multitrade specialist, your expertise is in demand, and you dont need teaching experience to get started. Many of our construction staff began with justone day a weekat Yeovil College. This flexible approach allows you to stay in industry while trying something new, giving you time to adjust, learn, and build confidence in the classroom. You can begin through: Shadowing current teachers Workshop support roles Technician positions Volunteer days (try teaching before committing). Well provide the mentoring, training and guidance you need, every step of the way. Moving from the tools to teaching doesnt mean leaving your trade behind, it means using your experience to build something bigger.
