Jeff Harnar ‘65: Broadway, Beatles, & Bacharach
To celebrate his 65th birthday, multi award winning cabaret and recording artist JEFF HARNAR returns to 54 Below with ‘65: BROADWAY, BEATLES & BACHARACH, a new show that taps into songs from the year ‘65 with a special spotlight on songs from BROADWAY (Hello Dolly, On a Clear Day, Oliver), BEATLES (Help!, In My Life, Nowhere Man) and BURT BACHARACH (What the World Needs Now, Planes and Boats and Trains, What’s New Pussycat?). Together with Award winning Music Director ALEX RYBECK the duo creates a musical snapshot of a time set amidst The New York’s World’s Fair, with The Sound of Music in cinemas, in the era Timothy Leary’s “Tune In, Turn On and Drop Out” … and the debut of Silly Putty and the Duncan Yo-Yo. In addition to The Beatles and Burt Bacharach, songwriters include Jerry Herman, Stephen Sondheim, Sammy Cahn, Charles Aznavour, Allan Sherman and The Beach Boys. The engagement coincides with the rerelease of Harnar’s 2001 album Sammy Cahn All the Way on all streaming platforms worldwide (PS Classics).
