Richard E Grant - In Conversation
This event has been archived!

Since his breakout role in cult classic film Withnail and I in 1987, actor Richard E Grant has become a much-loved fixture on our screens, starring in everything from the recent Saltburn to Doctor Who and Downton Abbey via Game of Thrones, Star Wars and Spice World. He was Oscar and BAFTA-nominated for his 2018 role in Can You Ever Forgive Me?
His most recent book, A Pocketful of Happiness was published in 2022 and was an instant Sunday Times bestseller, entwining tales from his showbiz career with uplifting reflections on love and loss.
At Fringe by the Sea, he will be in conversation discussing his life, achievements and the inspiration behind his book.
Speaking to Richard E. Grant about his life and career will be DJ, presenter, podcaster and cinephile Edith Bowman. Edith has hosted the BAFTA Film Awards and BAFTA Scotland Awards, presented Life Cinematic for BBC4 and produces an acclaimed podcast, which allows her to combine her love of music and film. Collaborating with Everyman Cinemas’ film club to deliver bespoke screenings and in-person conversations with the creatives and incredible minds behind new releases and all-time classics, the partnership last year included an interview with Emerald Fennell for Saltburn (starring none other than Richard E. Grant).
'A Pocketful of Happiness' will be available to purchase at the event from our book seller Night Owl Books.
