Bungo's Basement Comedy Club
Opening the show on 4th April, we have Elaine Malcolmson who is known for her deliciously dry humour and original take on everything from current affairs to colouring in. A Scottish Variety Award nominee and Scottish Comedy Award winner, Elaines TV and radio work includes BBC Scotlands Breaking the News and whatever combination of these you think is most impressive: Good Morning Scotland, A Funny Kind of Life and Death (theyre both BBC Radio Scotland) Radio 4 Extra Stands Up, BBC 2s What Women Want, BBC NIs The Blame Game. She has gigged across the UK, performing at the Big Tickle Comedy Festival in Derry, Merchant City Festival in Glasgow, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Glasgow International Comedy Festival; she made her international comedy debut at New York Comedy Festival in 2012. Elaine has written for and performed in various sketch groups including the Stockholm Syndrome and Alchemy. She has also been known to act and recently stared as Penny in BBC One Northern Irelands, RTS award wining, Soft Border Patrol. Headlining 4th April, we have host of the Some Laugh podcast, BBC New Comedy Award Winner and Scottish Comedian of the Year Stephen Buchanan. Stephen has appeared on Comedy Central Live, Scot Squad (BBC1), Jonathan Ross Comedy Club (ITV), The Now Show (BBC Radio 4), The Dog Ate My Homework (CBBC), Queen Of The New Year (BBC Scotland), Breaking The News (BBC Radio Scotland), Youre Part of the Problem (BBC R4), DIY Pundit (BT Sport), and is a regular face on Sparks (Channel 4). His series Cooking in a Crisis (BBC Scotland) was a highlight of the lockdown, as well as his sketches on Tiktok and Instagram which have over a million likes. Also performing, we have your host Chris Scott. Bringing unflinching punchlines and a bit of devilment to the stage, Chris has performed at clubs across Scotland, been nominated for Best Newcomer at the Scottish Comedy Awards and opened solo shows for Susie McCabe and Alex Edelman (Edinburgh Fringe Best Newcomer Winner as seen on BBC4, Conan). We have unpredictable Canadian comedian Cobin Millage who is sure to bring something you've never seen before and local up and comer Jack Brookmyre who had impressed on our other stages.
