A music-filled evening where literature, poetry and sound meet. In the theatre, we invite poets and spoken word artists accompanied by a DJ. Founded by Inua Ellams, The Rhythm And Poetry / Prose Party is a no-clutter, no-fuss, night of text and music. The format is super simple: 10 writers share a piece of work and after each, the Dj will play two songs of their choosing linked to the text. The RAP Party feels like a relaxed house party where special guests make eloquent speeches on the Dj’s selections. When the writers are reading or performing, the audience should be silent, focusing on them and their words. When they finish and the songs play, the audience can sing, rap, dance along, or simple vibe out.
