Classical Concert at All Saints Church

Members of the acclaimed Medici String Quartet and London soloists will perform a special one-off concert at All Saints Church, Bisley, on 11 July 2025. They will be joined by the soprano soloist Phillippa Lay, singing the glorious Nulla in Mundo Pax Sincera by Vivaldi.
The exciting programme will also include Mozarts Clarinet Quintet and pieces by the contemporary classical composer Max Richter, best known for his innovative film scores.

Cathy Thompson - Violin
An extremely versatile, experienced and accomplished performer and composer, Cathy has played in numerous concerts with a great variety of artists, most notably with the Michael Nyman Band, Peter Gabriel, Sting and The Stone Roses. She spent a year touring with U2. Cathy became a member of the Medici String Quartet in 1994.
A member of the London Metropolitan Orchestra, The London Session Orchestra and The New Blood Orchestra, Cathy is a dynamic live performer who has played in many prestigious concerts across the globe.
Cathy Thompson has asked her friends to join her for this special concert to raise some much-needed funds for the up keep of All Saints Church in Bisley.

Anthony Pike - Clarinet
He is the principal clarinet of the English Chamber Orchestra (ECO) and has performed orchestral and concerto concerts with them throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. He has also appeared as guest principal with most of the UKs leading orchestras. He has performed as obligato soloist with the Munich State Opera and in the Musikverein Hall in Vienna. Chamber music collaborators have included Christian Zacharias, Ralph Gothoni, the Medici Quartet, Joachim Trio, and ECO and London Soloists Ensembles. He is frequently to be heard on BBC Radio 3

Phillippa Lay - Soprano
Phillippa completed a post-graduate vocal performance course at the Birmingham Conservatoire in 2014, under the tutelage of mezzo-soprano Louise Crane and has since performed on numerous commercial recordings, as well as in many recitals, oratorios and concerts across the UK.
Phillippas most high-profile role to date was as a Princess Diana look-alike in the jointly produced Channel 4 and PBS Arts Channel television opera, When She Died; The Death of a Princess written to commemorate the fifth anniversary of her death, with music by Jonathan Dove and libretto by David Harsent.
