Freedom Masses Sound System, The Original Dub Advertiser from Manchester UK Freedom Masses have their own particular flavour of sound, vibes, style and dub-ability that has been rocking dances around UK & Europe since early 80s. Freedom Masses Sound System was started back in the in the early 80s by Jahmi X and Professor P. They had served theirapprenticeship way back in the mid to late 70s, while still at school, when they were both in different sound systems. Brother Yasin joined the team in the early 90s. As well as playing gigs with other sound systems around UK, Freedom Masses sounds were resident DJs at the Band On The Wall for many years! FreedomMasses played countless nights at the famous Hacienda Club in Manchester, and supported Soul Syndicate band there. Freedom Masses have played many sessions with likes of Jah Shaka, Jah Baron , Quaker City, Fatman Sound, Jungleman , Jah Tubbys, EarthRocker, Iration Steppas, Entebbe sound,King Earthquake, Jah Warrior ,Channel 1, Manaseh,Abashanti I, Jah Youth, kingstep sound (belgium), UBIK sound (Geneva), Blackboard Jungle sound (France), OBF sound, plus too many others to mention. Freedom Masses have performed at many festivals including Dub Academy Rototom Sunsplash, Dub Camp, Beat Herder and many others. Jungle Studio All Stars (Freedom Masses Dub Studio) There have been many releases including, 3 albums, Free Dominion, Version Of Peace, Life a Ruff (CD) and 7 single I Am Who I am, which is now a collectors piece! Also, Life a Ruff single, on Jah Fingers label, and on woodlands records, Bobylon hit, Reason, with Sub Dub, truth and rights. All these were recorded, mixed and produced by Professor P (Clive Wilks) at Jungle Studio All Stars. Freedom Masses have supported many charitable and community organisations. Participated in the Jah Works Roots and Culture Unification Dub Cup in the Midlands, to support the charity, 100 Black Men. Bike ride from Manchester to Bath (2022 & 2023) to raismoney for an Orphanage in Ethiopia. This year (2024) bike ride on the same route is to raise metal health awareness and help organisations to support people with difficulties. Freedom Masses Sound System have been consistently playing Roots, Steppers and Dub. Fighting against all forms of oppression, spreading the message and brining Peace, Love, Unity and Upliftment amongst people from all wlaks of life. Concrete Lion Sound System Concrete Lion Is A Birmingham/Bristol Based Sound System Founded By Kai Dub & Dubtronics. They Are New Generation, Although Involved In The Scene Since 2007, When Kai Dub & Dubtronics Both Set Up Their Own Independent Studios! Kai Originally Started Out In A Sound System Called Maasai Warrior Alongside The Late Paul Maasai And His Productions Reached All Four Corners Of The Earth! Together, They Played Many Sessions Across Several Continents & Over The Years, Kai Has Gone From Strength To Strength And Now Has A Vast Catalogue Of Releases! Dubtronics, Being King Earthquakes Nephew Has Always Had A Fascination For Sound Systems & Sound Reproduction And It Was Always His Ambition To Build His Own Sound System! He Spent Many Years Under The Wing Of His Uncle, Learning Every Aspect Of Sound System & In 2019 He & Kai Dub Decided To Join Forces, Embarking Upon A New Journey!
