The LadyBoys Of Bangkok cabaret review: Glittering madness

If glitter could explode, it would look like The LadyBoys Of Bangkok. This is not a show you simply watch: it is a show you surrender to. From the first beat, the stage bursts into colour, chaos and confidence. Costumes appear and disappear in seconds. Heels defy gravity. Wigs get higher. The choreography is razor sharp one moment and deliciously cheeky the next. Blink and you miss a reveal. Blink twice and the entire stage transforms.

The soundtrack is a joyous rollercoaster. When ‘Dancing Queen’ hits, the whole room becomes a disco. Hands are in the air, strangers sing together, and the cast owns every lyric with unapologetic flair. One minute the ensemble moves in flawless sync, the next they flirt with the audience, laugh and pull them straight into the party. The engagement is constant. The charisma is undeniable. There are genuine gasps at the talent on display.

Beneath the sequins and sass, there is something warmer. The show feels like Thai hospitality wrapped in cabaret glamour. It celebrates love, life and being unapologetically fabulous. Bold, joyful and outrageously entertaining, this is the kind of glittering madness that leaves audiences buzzing all the way home.

The LadyBoys Of Bangkok continues at the Roundhouse at the Garden of Unearthly Delights until March 22.
