Clowning antics at this year's Fringe include a rage against wrongdoings, a mourning ceremony about a canine, and a flamboyant freak show
With askew spectacles and a menacing glare, Frankie Thompson (Pleasance Courtyard, 5–30 August, 8.45pm) sets her sights on more chaotic glory in August by considering a bunch of Horrible Things. We’re shuddering at the very thought. A similar reaction may be inspired by Dog Funeral as Zoe Wohlfeld (Underbelly Cowgate, 5–30 August, 5.25pm) helps us to tap into the appropriate way we should be grieving the loss of a loved one, ie canine companion. Mighty Boosh meets Leigh Bowery for The Nearly Naked Show led by one Fanny Bleach (Assembly Roxy, 5–30 August, 9.50pm). A creepy cabaret and daring drag show shall ensue.
