3 To See: Musicals – September 2026

Freddie Fox has had quite the varied career having played everyone from Bosie Douglas to Jeremy Bamber as well as a member of the Hightower clan in the Game Of Thrones universe. He gets quite the dapper makeover for his musical theatre debut in High Society (Edinburgh Playhouse, Tuesday 8–Saturday 12 September) playing the undercover journo who was portrayed (if that’s the right word) by Frank Sinatra in the 1956 movie.

With a dream team of Dave Hook (music/lyrics), Orla O’Loughlin (direction) and Rob Drummond (script), Wallace (Pavilion Theatre, Glasgow, Friday 25 & Saturday 26 September; King’s Theatre, Edinburgh, Wednesday 30 September–Saturday 3 October) aims to shine fresh light onto the myth and the man more commonly known nowadays as Braveheart. Talking of legends, the story of how Six (Festival Theatre, Edinburgh, Tuesday 15–Saturday 26 September; Theatre Royal, Glasgow, Tuesday 29 September–Saturday 3 October) went from being a small-scale Edinburgh Fringe show to a global phenomenon is the stuff that many dreams are made of but very few come to fruition like this juggernaut.
