3 To See At The Fringe: Puppet shows
This year's Fringe puppetry listings include a time-tackling clown show, Sesame Street-esque shenanigans, and a synth-powered space opera
Putting some heart and soul into Cervantes’ classic, Dik Downey gives us Don Quixote (Is A Very Big Book) (Pleasance Dome, 5–31 August, 3.25pm), a puppetry tale about the inevitable ravages of time and finding companionship in odd places.
One online comment suggests that the puppetry affair from Glenn & Flenn (Paradise In The Vault, 24–30 August, 8.40pm) is a bit like ‘Sesame Street having a breakdown in a David Lynch film’. Well, we’re sold. From Half A String comes Tiny Planet (Pleasance Dome, 5–23 August, 12.25pm), a show for all the family as we go on an adventure to discover what truly matters in the often chaotic solar system.
