The winners of Scottish BAFTA 2023 have been announced

The winners of Scottish BAFTA 2023 were unveiled at an award ceremony in Glasgow last night, with big hitters like Aftersun, Winners, Blue Jean, My Old School and more winning awards to showcase excellence within the Scottish film and television industry.

In film, Aftersun picked up three awards, with Charlotte Wells winning for Director Fiction and Writer Film/Television, and Paul Mescal winning the Actor Film award. Meanwhile, Jono McLeod won Director Factual for My Old School, Lucy Halliday received the award for Actress Film for her role in Blue Jean, her first on-screen performance, and Winners received a gong for Feature Film.

In television, Mayflies received the award for Television Scripted, and Actor Television, while Lewis Gribben took home the award for his performance in Somewhere Boy. Lauren Lyle (pictured) celebrated two wins for her performance in Karen Pirie, receiving the awards for Actress Television and the Audience Award for Favourite Scot On Screen. Entertainment went to Frankie Boyle’s Farewell To The Monarchy and Features went to Designing The Hebrides.

Director Jon S Baird presented Shirley Henderson with the Outstanding Contribution To Film & Television, given in recognition of an exceptional standard of work across a long career.
