The Basement

Soft tacos dripping with chipotle smokiness and guacamole provide a laid-back option for groups at this subterranean Broughton Street bar. Pitchers of Margaritas are ideal for sharing, the tequila selection is second to none and there are 3 for 2 tacos on Tuesday and Thursday.

The Basement, 10a Broughton Street

BABA

Small mezze-style plates sprinkled with pomegranate seeds and doused in creamy labneh accompany the grill specials at BABA. It’s all made for sharing, but you’ll fight over the slow-cooked lamb shoulder. From the feasting section, whole seabass is a crowd-pleaser.

BABA, 130 George Street

The Dome

The decorations that twist up The Dome’s columns are Edinburgh Christmas icons. Inside, The Grill Room, Georgian Tea Room and Club Room are just as resplendent. They serve all the classics and it’s ideal for smaller groups (seating up to eight).

The Dome, 14 George Street

Edinburgh Street Food

A vast indoor/outdoor street-food market, ESF features award-winning vendors like Junk, CHIX fried chicken, Fabbrica handmade pasta and Antojitos’ fully vegan Mexican menu. Ideal for groups and all dietary requirements.

Edinburgh Street Food, OMNi Centre

Kahani

Big and vibrant, Kahani serves Indian classics for groups and small gatherings alike. Curries vary from mild and fragrant to blow-your-face-off spicy and their BYOB option is great for those who want to keep the bill low.

Kahani, 10/11 Antigua Street

Ka Pao

Like the award-winning Glasgow original, this is a vast, stylish space perfect for groups. The small plates menu is packed with spices from Southeast Asia combined with Scottish produce (think Shetland mussels with chilli jam and Thai basil).

Ka Pao, Floor 4, St James Quarter
