Boards Of Canada announce first album in 13 years
Inferno will be released on Friday 29 May on Warp Records

Boards Of Canada, the wildly influential Edinburgh electronica duo, have announced a new album, their first since Tomorrow’s Harvest in 2013. Their fifth LP is called Inferno and will be released on Friday 29 May on Warp Records.
Featuring 18 tracks, announcement of the album comes after a month-long teaser campaign in which the band sent VHS tapes to fans featuring mysterious, heavily degraded footage. Reddit threads were alight with speculation on what the tapes could represent, with more committed audiophiles unpicking sound samples from the footage in an attempt to decipher hidden messages on the tape.
All was (sort of) revealed when ‘Tape 05’ surfaced on the Boards YouTube channel. Although many assumed this was a new single for the album, ‘Tape 05’ is nowhere to be found in the tracklist, which may signal that it was an amalgam of several songs from Inferno.
The album will be available on special edition limited red translucent two-LP vinyl in triple-gatefold sleeve with 16-page booklet, standard black two-LP vinyl, as well as CD and digital formats.
