‘Fuccbois: they’ll break your heart’. This lyric comes from one of the many relatable, relevant and rollicking songs that will be stuck in your head after seeing this satirical musical comedy poking fun at, you guessed it, fuckboys. Fuccbois: Live In Concert is based on a fictional Australian boy band performing their last ever concert (so they think). The strong female-led cast, all clad in awfully relevant attire inspired by what some contemporary men wear ‘apart from the security guard, tour manager and Kylie Minogue’ have their room pumped from the very beginning.

With songs such as ‘Slow Fade’, ‘Rich Dad’, ‘Three Little Words’ and ‘Gaslight Shanty’, the show hilariously tackles toxic dating culture while giving us glimpses of the sensitive side of masculine men who are failing spectacularly to properly support the feminist cause. There is never a dull moment with the cast’s chemistry and comedic timing keeping the energy high throughout, with each song bringing another ridiculous characteristic of the stereotypical fuckboy to life.

What makes all this particularly entertaining is that beneath the jokes and catchy songs, there is a recognisable commentary on modern masculinity, dating and the increasingly complicated world of relationships. Fuccbois: Live In Concert is the perfect quick hit of comedy, music and satire. Whether you’ve encountered a fuckboy yourself or simply want to laugh at the absurdity of contemporary dating, this will have you laughing and probably questioning every ‘hey stranger’ text you receive afterwards.
