Nominees for BAFTA Scotland Audience Award 2023 announced: public vote now open
Lewis Capaldi, Meryl Williams, Hamza Yassin and more are in the running for this year’s prize

BAFTA Scotland has unveiled the six nominees for the Audience Awards, the only award category at the show open to a public vote. Members of the public will be able to cast their vote on BAFTA's official site until 5pm on Monday 30 October.
The six nominees have been selected by an independent jury comprised of Scottish media and culture experts, recognising the key Scottish talent who have made an impact with audiences in the past year. It’s the final category to be announced for the awards after other nominations were unveiled last week, and includes Lewis Capaldi for How I'm Feeling Now, Brian Cox for Succession, Tony Curran for Mayflies, Lauren Lyle for Karen Pirie, Meryl Williams for The Traitors and Hamza Yassin for Strictly Come Dancing. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in Glasgow’s Doubletree at Hilton on Sunday 19 November, which will be screened on BAFTA’s official YouTube channel.

Jude MacLaverty, Director of BAFTA Scotland, said, ‘The six nominees announced today have captured the hearts and minds of viewing audiences over the past year. It is almost guaranteed that we have all discussed at least a couple (if not all!) of these names on our socials and with our friends and work colleagues; they all created watercooler moments of brilliance and emotion. It's now over to you, the public, to vote for your favourite Scot on screen from this past year. Get voting!’
