Primal Scream announce XTRMNTR full album tour for 2026
Bobby Gillespie and the gang will hit venues in Glasgow, Newcastle, London and more this September

Primal Scream have announced a full album tour of their genre-melding album XTRMNTR as it passes its 25th anniversary, with the band planning shows in Glasgow, Newcastle, Nottingham, Manchester, Bristol and London. Tickets for the shows go on sale at 10am on Friday 17 April. Scroll to the bottom of this article for a detailed list of the band’s UK tour dates.
Viewed as one of Primal Scream’s more experimental albums, 2000’s XTRMNTR pushed Gillespie’s marriage of acid house, industrial noise, rock and psychedelia about as far as he was willing to take it, replacing his high-flying hedonism for dancefloor-ready political grandstanding. It was a guest-heavy album, featuring contributions from My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields, The Stone Roses’ Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield (who had contributed to the band since 1997), New Order’s Bernard Sumner, and The Chemical Brothers.
Plenty of songs from the album have become staples of Scream’s live shows, particularly ‘Swastika Eyes’ and ‘Accelerator’, but this will be the first time the album has been played in full since a special performance at London's Roundhouse last year. Dates will start with two nights at Glasgow’s Barrowland on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 September, followed by Newcastle’s NX on Tuesday 8 September, Nottingham’s Rock City on Wednesday 9 September, Manchester’s New Century Hall on Friday 11 September, Bristol’s Electric on Sunday 13 September, and London’s HERE At Outernet on Tuesday 15 September.
News of the tour comes alongside the announcement of The Bunker Trilogy, a special collection of expanded reissues of Primal Scream’s more experimental albums: Vanishing Point, XTRMNTR and Evil Heat. While no further details are known, expect the reissues to be released throughout the year.
The Glasgow band’s last release was Come Ahead in 2024, which we awarded four stars. ‘It seems unlikely that art can alter any catastrophe happening on the world stage right now,’ reads our review, ‘but at the very least Come Ahead is trying to replicate the urgency of protest at a time when the public have every right to feel impotent. This is an era of despair, Gillespie seems to tell us, but at least we can despair together.’ Read the full review here.
