The Strokes announce Reality Awaits tour with UK dates
Julian Casablancas’ veteran act will hit venues in London, Newcastle and Manchester next year

After a six year wait for new material, The Strokes have revealed details of their seventh studio album and accompanying tour dates. Tickets for the tour go on sale at 10am on Friday 17 April. Scroll to the bottom of this article for a detailed list of the band’s UK shows.
Set for release on Friday 26 June via Cult Records/RCA Records, the veteran New Yorker's latest album is called Reality Awaits and was primarily recorded in Costa Rica with the yogi-like producer and bearded soothsayer Rick Rubin (who’s arguably still best known for orchestrating the final act of Johnny Cash's career).
News of the album was accompanied by new single ‘Going Shopping’, a mellow rocker packed with witticisms from a heavily autotuned Julian Casablancas about disconnecting from a world in crisis (‘Solidarity can be difficult when you’ve got cool stuff to lose’ is our favourite). Listen to the single below.
Starting at London’s O2 on Tuesday 6 October, the band will then visit Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on Sunday 25 October and Manchester’s Co-op Live on Monday 26 October. Support on all UK tour dates will come from Fat White Family and Alex Cameron.
